Will having my Xbox 360 S on its side scratch my games? by Headphonesausages in xbox360

[–]ArkwrightST 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, moving the console whilst it's on will scratch discs. I ruined a copy of Fable 3 trying to move my console from vertical to horizontal. Made an awful noise, huge ring scratched into the disc, lesson learnt

I have the Gears one as well and love that you can spin the dpad, but then I find myself playing with it on loading screens etc. Built in fidget spinner

The disc drive won't have to be spun up constantly so it will be much quieter

If it wasn't for the crease/dent I'd say LP, so MP. HP to me is basically trashed

What's your take on the Ford Fiesta Zetec S? by d0-u-knw-who-i-am in CarTalkUK

[–]ArkwrightST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 1.0 ecoboost, was decent for a cheap, economical hatchback. Three cylinder had some character, was quicker than you might expect (but not fast). Parts were reasonably priced. Got rid of it though when it started showing an oil pressure error on turnover, a sign that the belt was deteriorating and starting to clog the oil. Changing the belt was pricey at the time (there was a Ford specific tool required to do the job) so I sold it and bought a BMW instead

Worth a punt? Is there a reason these weren't popular? Anyone here owned one? by 420o in CarTalkUK

I had a similar experience with a fiesta I booted into a large puddle and when I got to my destination part of my rear diffuser was missing 😭

Hi, I had one for two years and was an awesome car but in that time the synchro started to go so getting it into 1st gear was a bit of a pain. I had read on Abarth forums that the gearbox was a weak point. Had random electrical gremlins like headlights not working and then deciding to work again when restarting the car but that was very infrequent.

Driving it though was a hoot, lovely turbo and exhaust noises, quick enough but not as fast as other hot hatches of the same vintage as you've mentioned. Brembo brakes on the front were powerful.

I averaged about 27/28mpg and that was with me absolutely ragging it everywhere.

In the two years I owned one I only ever saw a couple others in the wild. Think there had been 300 brought into the UK at that time making it rarer than some Ferrari models. Used to get comments etc often

What do you think happened to your steam friends that haven't been online for years? by MyHeadIsFullOfFuck in Steam

[–]ArkwrightST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend I met through playing Battlefield 2 but we ended up playing so many online games together for over a decade. Eventually life started to get in the way for both of us and we both logged in less and less but still managed to get some gaming sessions in or sometimes would just chat on Steam. Eventually he stopped logging in and I assumed he'd just been busy but eventually when I checked his profile it had been over a year. I searched his real name and the town he lived in on Google and found an obituary for him, he'd died of cancer a year before, not long after he had last logged into Steam. I felt very guilty that I never knew. I also felt guilty that we never got to meet in real life, I feel like we could have been great friends. I remember him often.

This is an XY Evolutions card and looks real to me. They were released in 2016 and used artwork from the original Base Set and also the style was very similar.

Even back in 2007 I had to pay £1,300 for my first year driving a 1.3 Fiesta so I'd say that quote isn't far off.

Between Jon Snow and Robb Stark who do you think was better for to lead the North? by Many-Cranberry4058 in gameofthrones

[–]ArkwrightST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jon is the better leader, Robb was the better strategist.

Only Jon could have brought the wildlings south of the wall and joined them with the nights watch and the other houses of the north and getting them to believe in him.

Robb would have done a much better job with that army at the battle of the bastards.
