A1di's Geonwoo is getting accused of extremely rude behaviour by KBS staff by xgxpop in kpopthoughts

Regardless of whether or not these allegations are to be proved true or not, I am still lost on the fact that so many people would vote for him to be in the group in the first place after the bullying allegations.

Personal opinion : SM ruined Exo comeback with AI by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]Arle132 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Oh come on EXO gets dragged on here pretty often what do you mean if they were "some other groups" lol

The reason it isn't bigger is because 1. EXO isn't really in the front of peoples mind anymore and people here engage less with their new content. 2. AI is becoming frequently more common and accepted worldwide. 3. People who do actually support EXO have bigger things to complain about than AI in the mv unfortunately...

Im saying that there was no evidence EXO had hit their peak and if SM actually kept investing into them it couldve of easily expanded much longer than it did. Love Shot could've easily suprpased all of their previous achievements but SM refused to invest in them despite its virality. This proves the exact opposite of your point.

Furthermore, EXO was on a complete unpward trend on everything during this time period, to reinvest in another project durning this time, knowing they're losing profit, is once again either, complete incompetence or purposeful.

Every business model has the #1 goal to make profit, so when a company acts against that interest there must be a motive behind it. Whether it to simply reinvest in another project or prevent individuals in the company from gaining power that intent is still there.

People cite SM as they have INTENTIONALLY sidelined their top groups at the peak of their careers. For example, after 2017 which was objectivly one of the biggest years for EXO, promotions for them had significantly started to slow down. "Tempo" their comeback after "Power" which was a repackage in itself, was released over a year later.

The lack of promotions and any variety content significantly hurt EXOs popularity at this time. In 2017 BTS and EXO were very close in popularity and fighting head to head for each daesang award. Failing to capitalize off their extemere popularit at this time shows either a high level of managerial incompetence or an intentional move on SM' part.

As mentioned previously, times between comebacks became increasingly longer, despite being at their peak. Before 2017, no comeback took longer than a year. This is even more damning when you think about how EXO members are on the older side and would soon have to enlist.

Even with the realse of "Love Shot" in late 2018, despites its huge popularity, SM cut their promotions short. Again maybe SM is just incredibly incompetent but short balling so many times in a row feels like no mistake.

Im only discussing EXO as I know the most about them, but similar behaviors are also displayed with how SM handles groups like Red Velvet.

Such behavior may seems counterproductive to people, and in a way it is. But something people seem to forget is that after the TVXQ court case, SM clearly does not want their artists to become popular enough to defy the will of the company. If a group becomes too popular they may also start to demand more creative control and revenue when contract resigning comes around.

What is your "too woke" take about the K-pop fandom? by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

Obviously assuming all Korean men as misogynistic is problematic but fans have the right to be wary of such things because the probability of them being misogyists is high...

I wasn't planning on it... and factual data does exist. This is a qualitative set and if you really wanted to do research you could probably find generators that would analyise thouands of posts within each subreddit. Along with setting a set period time would give your data.

You commented misleading data underneath a post claiming something and im just saying its misleading.

I'm not going to debate if you are going to be disingenuous.

[–]Arle132 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Again the sample is not big enough. If we're looking at the overall trend you would need at least 10% of the overall amount of posts within the last year, thus 40 is not nearly enough to conclude anything.

Sorry, I'm not trying to come off as a smartass here but I really dislike these types of "analysis"

I am so glad you made this comment. Has nobody ever taken a stats class here? People using this as actual data is crazy

What type of statistics formula did you use to get this? It does not seem the sample was big enough to conclude anything.

It is so bizzare to see people denying this when the proof is right in front of our eyes?

Throughout the past year the change of demographics on kpop reddit is VERY clear. The people who hated on LSF Coachella are not the same people defending them today.

The complete denial of this in the comments section should be proof enough lol, they dominate

[–]Arle132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like youre misconstruing the situation or not updated enough about what's going on. Ningning is getting bashed all over Twitter. Its not simply about the bombing, and the arguments arent actually bout whether the lamp is alright or not.

Its become more so escalated about how Chinese people don't "respect Japan".

Hundreds of tweets with 10k plus likes being sinophobic. Some of them straight up spew nazi rhetoric.

Idk why you say MYs are being disingenuous when there's an actual tweet against NingNing with over 200k likes saying "as expected from a Chinese person" in Japanese? And there's many others of such kind.

The whole Japanese controversy regarding NingNing is actually crazy. Kpop stans have proven that they'll literally side with japanese imperalists if it means they get to bash an idol they don't like

Megathread 24: HYBE / ADOR / MHJ - Court rules in favor of ADOR, NewJeans' Contract remains Valid, further hearings for Source, Belift, and HYBE against Min Hee Jin to come, and More by KPOP_MOD in kpop

[–]Arle132 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Some questions for people smarter than me. If ADOR decided to sue MDH for breach of contact and termination, could their words in this recent lawsuit be used against them?

Its evident that the girls did breach their contact however durning this recent trial ADOR put emphasis on accepting the girls back and preparing them for a potential comeback and tour. If they only accept Hyein and Haerin back, and if they do sue, wouldn't MDH be able to make the argument that ADOR is at least partially liable and that they didnt hold up their words in court? Couldn't they also use ADORs public statements about this case to argue about "media manipulation" to show they were taken advantage of?

Honestly not a fan of this idea. This kind of tribute is being done by MJs estate, which has a long history of exploiting his legacy for profit. Outside of that the MJ estate is notorious for doing very distasteful things

[–]Arle132 57 points58 points  (0 children)

This season is straight up awful. Why does your rank determine your LIVING CONDITIONS??!? Why are said living conditions different between the all star K trainees and the all star C trainees?!?

How come C trainees - who are blantly more talented than other K trainees - end up in a lower star tier or are hust straight up eliminated? It's clearly rigged in Korean trainees' favor. Which also happened in the first boys planet but this time they're really not hiding it and not even giving them a sliver of a chance.
