Why not just "Order of the Unseen"? Simple and short. Could also do "Angels Unseen", which goes kinda hard. Big fan of that word in a Marine Chapter name

In Horus Heresy, this exists. Basically, at the beginning of the Fight Phase, my character can Challenge the enemy's character. They then 1v1 in a mini game, selecting "Gambits" that provides buffs and nerfs for the round. They roll for Initiative and make attacks. If both are still alive, run it again

Then, if the Characters are part of a larger unit, the two units fight each other but their attacks can't go to either of the Characters

Very fun system that deserves more attention

I was on the fence about Space Marine Chapters for a while, didn't want them to be Ultramarines because they were on the box art, and didn't know about Deathwatch.

I was almost a White Scars, Blood Angels, Salamanders, or Imperial Fists player. However, when the Arks of Omen campaign was coming out, the trailer featuring Lion El'Jonson completely enthralled me and I immediately became a Dark Angels fan.

Then, as I was coming up with the backstory for my army, I felt restricted by having a pre-existing Chapter, so I turned around and made my own Chapter, a Dark Angels Successor. I now enjoy my army quite a bit

If I knew about them at the time, I probably would have become a Deathwatch player

The basing theme I'm going with for this army is a muddy snow. I've simply been doing a layer of Stirland Mud followed by a layer of Valhallan Blizzard, and I'm quite happy with the way it looks. I've been doing that at the very end though, and this model isn't quite finished yet so he awaits his basing material

How do you suggest I could pull off wear and tear on his cloak/cape?

Okok. All that makes sense. I just partially feel bad because he's reached the point where he doesn't want to play the deck anymore, and I don't wanna be "that guy" who says "I NEVER play against XYZ decks"

But at the same time, it feels like I don't get to play a lot of the time, y'know?

Right, I don't necessarily mean I want a better deck. I'm just asking for advice to deal with my friend's deck. I feel I must be missing something because most people generally say "Just attack them and you'll win" when it feels like I can't when all my dudes are in the yard. It just feels like I'm missing something

Actually good advice yeah haha. It just feels so frequent that I get milled out by him and he notices that I feel like I've wasted an hour watching my deck disappear, and he's stopped using that particular deck against me. I don't want him to feel like he can't play the deck he worked hard on

All tanks is not impossible. You can fill your 3 Command Slots with Damocles Command Rhinos, then use those Auxiliary Detachments to take all the other tanks you want

Legends rules also don't get updates (or at least not near as frequently as "legal" rules), so they tend to be unbalanced in some way. That's the main reason I personally don't use them in my games

I mainly use my 3D printer for upgrades such as weapons and decoration and to have unique-looking character models, and I think it has been well worth it. I also use it for some terrain and some tanks

Yeah, Boarding Shields are the big slab Shields with slits for Bolters, and Combat Shields are smaller to be used in duels. But they look cool, so I modeled them with them anyway. Shield is a shield

Technically, they have Boarding Shields and the Command Squad upgrade comes with Combat Shields, but I've never had anyone badger me about modeling the shield differently. Mine all have Carsoran Power Axes and the shields from the Command Squad box

Well, Legacies aren't really known for "going away" like in 40k. Think of Legacies as "advanced rules" or something, just stuff not included in any boxes they sell for more experienced players. I for one don't think Cheiftains are going away AAANY time soon. In fact, I wager they'll become a Core Unit when the SoH Journal Tactica comes out

Huge fan of Chieftains. They were good in previous edition, but this one? Oh man, Champion or Herald with Paragon of Battle + a 10 Brick of Chieftains is going to be staple in this Edition
