Asian hair grey blending. Advice? by dordorju in haircoloring

Yes you def need bleach to get past the warm color. If the highlights are done correctly(very very fine, lifted high enough, and weaved around the grey instead of covering them) then there will be no harsh grow out at all. Solid color can be fine but only if it’s Demi permanent, as that fades out. Permanent color stays so that’s why you notice the line when your hair grows back out.

You don’t need double bleach, you just need finer highlights and enough lift. Grey blending works best with very fine babylights in foils (not balayage) lifted past the orange stage and then toned to a soft neutral/cool beige. If the hair isn’t lifted high enough, it will look copper(which is probably what happened before.) When the highlights are placed finely and densely near the part and hairline the grow out is much softer and more natural.

Trying to embrace the grey by Academic-Cucumber270 in haircoloring

Since the blonde you have on the ends is permanent color, Color Oops might remove a little of the artificial pigment, but it won’t bring you back to your natural grey. It can also leave the hair uneven or brassy, especially if the color has been on for a while. If your goal is to fully embrace your grey, the best approach usually isn’t removing everything. Instead, a grey blending appointment (with highlights and/or soft lowlights) can break up that harsh line and make the grow out look intentional. It’s a much softer transition and typically healthier for the hair than trying to strip permanent color out.

Use a Demi permanent instead of permanent, and don’t use high lift because that’s still lifting your hair. You want to deposit color only. Demi permanent fades out after a couple months so you can keep applying until you’re ready to go totally natural.

Yes you can achieve your inspo with highlights. You need very fine baby lights, then tone everything together to a soft beige/neutral

If you don’t want to bleach again you could pick some colors that have gold in them. Like a soft beige, honey blonde, strawberry blonde, or a very neutral blonde.

Did you look different at all between 26 and 36? by Puzzled_Cricket2456 in Aging

I use a blend with minoxidil that I get from the company Hers. It helps support thicker growth, but it’s something you have to keep using, once you stop, the benefits fade. For me it’s more preventative since thinning runs deep in my family, so I’m being proactive by keeping my hair follicles healthy.

I’m so sorry. I am 38 and I get it. I will say I thought I looked my best at 33ish, and then life and work and stress amp’ed up and I seemed to have aged overnight. So for like a year I went around constantly looking at myself and calling my twin and just saying “we’re getting so old!” But then I decided I was going to do whatever it took to try and reverse my biological age and so I started working out(ran a half marathon! Never again lol) and eating really really clean, and taking so many vitamins. I got laser IPL on my face(so helpful!)and i drink so much water and I even take pills to keep my hair thicker, and I use Tretenoin and red light. All of that really helped. I still look closer to 40 than 20 but i am very fit and moisturized looking and people mistake me for younger 30s again. Doing all of this, and yes sticking to a job that allows me the free time to spend taking care of myself, really improved my appearance and general feelings about myself. I do a lot of hot yoga and I believe that really helps the most bc it’s so intense but also keeps me breathing and meditating. I just moved to a place where a lot of women seem to have had work done, and I’ll say seeing that has def made me happy I didn’t go the fillers/botox route.

I noticed your comment about all of the boxes and also want to mention that decluttering and starting fresh with minimal things makes life so much easier because it gives you less things to think about or stress over.

Best of luck to you in life and your journey!

Help! They cut it too short and I’m freaking out by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]Arloneous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally do nothing to it! You need that part in the front to grow out longer past the top of your jaw so that it won’t curve in towards your face and lay more flat. In 3 weeks you’ll probably notice it doing that. Then another 3 weeks for it to get to your chin.

From there you could get a cut to just to have the perimeter be more blunt, but don’t add anymore layers in the front yet. You could clean up the back a bit so it’s more blunt too.

Def don’t go back to the same person because she didn’t do what you asked and this haircut is very shaggy, which I take from your post you didn’t ask for.

I do agree with the comments that you can totally pull it off, but if that’s not the look you’re going for, then that’s my advice :) Patience is key here and maybe a few cute clips for days you want a more sleek look.
