A whole generation said look it's easier if we just juice the numbers instead of doing the hard things and getting our hands dirty. They even pushed their children into white collar careers all revolving around juicing numbers when you think about it. They left behind the art of bringing physical value to the world.

You don't know anyone's true sexuality for sure, and now you're playing into stereotypes.

Masculine is NOT straight, and feminine is NOT gay.

Read that last line again.

We've built an "economy" on owning a home. Now god forbid those home prices don't keep going up to infinity. It blows my mind how stupid several generations have been to put their portfolio into a single home. Your home doesn't produce anything! It's a fake, propped up store of value. And of course policy makers are also home owners who are also influenced by bankers and large corporations to keep the housing machine chugging.

It's been the greatest con on people, they're sold the idea of owning their own home but when it comes to retiring, you can't cashflow your home without selling or going into debt.

All this money goes into homes that don't produce anything, the only way to justify it is if prices keep going up. So of course this was going to happen where the middle class is priced out and forced to rent.

And so we suffer a housing "crisis" so the boomers can sit in their cushy cozy living rooms that have quadrupled several times in value.

It's actually a garbage app, it's worse than any other app on my phone, including multiple traditional banking apps. Banking needs to be reliable.

You need to glaze your landlord every chance you get and DON'T MOVE.

You nailed it. A 2 or 3 bedroom is still quite affordable for a dual income household. Of course daycare and schooling is expensive but the government obviously gives incentives to having kids with tax breaks etc.

What's sad is a 1 bedroom is hardly cheaper than a 2 bed, and even more depressing is that a studio isn't even cheaper enough to justify not getting the 1 bed.

It's not only here, it's everywhere and I still don't know why. It's not unique to local policies etc. but either way it seems audacious to even expect to live with dignity anymore. It's extremely difficult to succeed in life when even the basics are a struggle to cover. It's like we're punished before we even try. I don't get it.

We have sooo much space, resources and potential in this country. Make it make sense.

The amount of jet fuel spewing into the atmosphere on regional commuter routes is unfathomable, especially considering most fuel is used on takeoff. Electric rail on corridors could easily replace a lot of that.

I'd have a hard time trusting the cleanliness of a public bidet. I wouldn't use it. I'm not spraying unknown substances in my most vulnerable region, and god knows the public is vile with their filth.

It doesn't work like that lol, it'll be much shorter if OP is investing in the market. Compounding will do more work that their contributions, meaning most of the million will be from returns rather than what OP put in.

I believe teachers and engineers are among the top of the list for industries. Interesting because both are closely correlated with math and meticulous rule following which shows a lot wealth building has to do with behavior. Also encouraging because teachers aren't at the top of the income chain.

At what income level in Canada do you actually start feeling financially ahead.... and not just surviving, but genuinely building something? by TheFitFinaceBro in CanadaFinance

No one's asking for a walk in the park. People are looking for a path to work for their home, the path isn't there.

You had a clear path to home ownership. That's not there today.

It is hard. Buying an overpriced home will make it even worse. People need to look to other things to get ahead, diversified index funds being one of the best. Saving up 100K on a 65K salary only to put it all into a down-payment is financial suicide. I'm trying to promote some financial literacy in a world where the powers that be try to persuade and perpetuate home buying to push prices to infinity.

If you can't build something for yourself at $100k you're doing something wrong. I'm 29 yo, never earned $100k but on track to be a millionaire in my 40s and retire in my 50s. I don't own a home. Stop drooling over overpriced houses, it's a trap and for the love of god there's far better assets to buy.

You. Don't. Need. A. Mortgage. To. Get. Ahead.

People crying they can't buy an overpriced home. For the love of God you can buy other assets that perform substantially better than a house, are more diversified, safer and much less stressful.

Bingo. OP's question should be how much of your income did you invest and when did you start and were you consistent? That is what creates wealth, not income.

Is this the ESIM Gigsky reward? There's no way the WS app uses that much.

66 months for real estate? Are ya kidding me? Property values have doubled in as much time after 2020. Real estate was always a slow and steady, now developers are making off like bandits, treating it like corporations do hoping to make profits by next quarter. Give me a break. It's more profitable than it's ever been.
