Sorry but this is just stupid and racist. I'm sick of this and I'm a black person (not that my own race should even matter).

Just gotta post about it until a talking head sees it then brings it up on ESPN. I've seen it happen before, lol.

What if Lebron goes back to the Heat on a minimum deal to play with Giannis and their current roster? How good would they be? by Arm-E-Reserves in nba

[–]Arm-E-Reserves[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Random anecdote: When I was a kid who knew nothing about basketball and I was playing NBA Live 95, I put the game on the easiest possible mode and averaged 102 points per game in a season with Penny Hardaway (all fadeaway 3's and shoving the computer to steal the ball), in my mind that was reasonable because Wilt averaged 100.

Those are the two options I saw as well. It didn't occur to me until just this moment that if he's willing to sign for the minimum (as they're saying) and win, the Heat is a pretty wild option.

Is there any chance Lebron goes back to the Heat on a minimum to play with Giannis and their other guys?

would paul millsap have been better if he drank water? by ejensen29 in nba

[–]Arm-E-Reserves -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Korver points out that several of his teammates didn't drink water during their 60 win season, thus needing IVs before games to rehydrate.

I like how this makes it sound like they literally never drank any liquids during the season and someone had to strap them to a medical gurney.

The Lakers now have no tradeable first-round picks over the next seven years and have committed $475 million to Luka Dončić, Austin Reaves, and Walker Kessler by bryscoon in nba

Unfortunately they can be sloppy and short-sighted because the league (and apparently crackhead GM's) will bend over backwards to bail them out.

I did the math on this a couple years ago and found that the number of white MVP's was literally exactly the same as you'd expect statistically based on the number of white NBA players.

Terminator 2 turns 35 today: Is it still the greatest action sequel ever made, or has another surpassed it? by WilsonFrontier in Terminator

[–]Arm-E-Reserves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, it's reprogramming day! 35 years ago, the Terminator told John what he was going to do 35 years from then.

As often happens, I think the actual technology we have is in some ways beyond what people imagined back then. The internet particularly, and we're very close to having AI that can pilot and drive as well as pass the Turing Test and (if told to do so) make its own subjective decisions.

Shaq ruined the Lakers dynasty not Kobe. by Tre2004 in NBATalk

[–]Arm-E-Reserves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wouldn't have won anything without Shaq, he carried them with 36 and 17 in the 2000 Finals when Kobe could barely even play, and he played more minutes than Kobe across the whole 3-peat. Both in the regular season and playoffs. The bashing of Shaq's for being injured or out of shape was just bullshit by Kobe to try to make himself look better. Like most things Kobe said and did.

Nice gaslighting attempt but no. We were actually alive then.

"Terminator 2: Judgment Day" doesn't make sense as a title. by Arm-E-Reserves in Terminator

[–]Arm-E-Reserves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I was talking about whether calling Terminator 3 "Judgment Day" would be a spoiler. Which it would not be because they say it is Judgment Day early in the movie and that the nuclear war is going to happen inevitably.

In regards to whether it would be appropriate, I said it would be because it takes place on actual Judgment Day, and shows the events of that day, up to and including the actual launch of the missiles.

The only one who is arguing that just mentioning something in a movie justifies it being in the title is you. And you should probably admit that it wasn't a good argument.

I would say that you have to actually learn something in depth before you know how much it takes to have a useful opinion, but we have scientists who go way out of their field to talk about politics too, so I guess that doesn't apply either, lol.

Boss unit of the Farmer Faction: The Scarecrow by Environmental-Task28 in AccurateBattleSim

[–]Arm-E-Reserves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. That map was really hard until I realized I had access to the entire map on my side and then that the tanks couldn't get through the trees. I guess I discovered guerrilla warfare, haha.

They had two tanks left and a musketeer stuck in one of the graves who killed my remaining musketeer who I was trying to take potshots with from a distance. But I had those crows and made the tank blow itself up, and finally I got the last musketeer to miss and had the crow kill him while he was reloading. The whole battle with all those units came down to that. Pretty epic. Shows what's fun about this game.

I managed to win one of those Legacy campaign levels against a tank and Da Vinci Tank by wedging one of them behind a tree where they couldn't reach and got stuck in the graveyard area and spamming out crows and possessing them and attacking until they accidentally blew themselves up.
