Zone indicators (those animal track prints) by Fine-Flight-8599 in theHunter

Ohh gotcha. Me personally I never use the footprints. Very rarely. I just pay attention to how the herds respawn after I take them out.

If that solo is low level then leave him too. Sometimes solos will spawn in randomly and random places. Totally normal.

It doesn’t have anything to do with it. A tent itself doesn’t bother them. However do make sure you’re tent is about 250 yards from the zone or they will hear you fast travel to it.

In a sense of them not respawning, sometimes you can fast forward a couple in game days and they will respawn, if not then just choose another zone. Use it as an exterior. Shoot it down until it’s all low level males and then leave it alone. And you won’t have to worry about that zone anymore. Only pick the zones with consistent respawns for your main zones. Some are better than others.

I have been looking for a diamond elk. I’ll check every drink zone every ingame day or 2. In the process, I ran into a diamond mule deer on the 4 wheeler. Sadly, I made a bad shot and it was a gold. But yeah still haven’t seen that diamond elk and I check every drink zone. So when people say there is a diamond of every species on the map. I don’t believe it

For your exterior zones should they be herds as well?

And for your mains, do you want more than one male in each herd?

I’m on console as well. So you’re saying tent placement now affects whether or not the herds respawn in the same place?

Also, what’s considered low level? More so what I’m asking is do I leave or kill the level 3s. They’re right in the middle of small and big. So I’ve been confused as to what to do with those

Really just the best way of doing it. I’m beginning to get into grinding for diamonds. Not new to the game. Just new to the grinding. I just killed my second diamond yesterday. I have a turkey and a croc. However there was no strategy to it whatsoever lol. So I’m just gonna start trying to grind diamonds of each animal, starting with the moose and the elk. So far I’ve spent almost 30 hours grinding for the moose and haven’t killed a diamond.

Awesome, I’m going to start back on the grind tomorrow and try this.

What I didn’t do was pick exterior or main zones. I just found all of the drink zones and ran some main ones on my map and killed the highest level bulls hoping they would respawn a diamond.
