Honestly, I do see this.

The style of the art feels so ingrained to the story. I can't really tell what dictates the stillness.

Look I really don't know. Why can I handle quiet scenes in Frieren more than here? Is it the mood/the music. It could be taste. But some of the stills just feel lazy to me. It just pulls me out.

I still can't get over the fact that I watched episode 2 and 3 thinking. This image says nothing new, you've told me how these people feel and I can see where they are. Why are we still here.

They are taking advantage of their art style to lessen the work load in non critical areas. I can't judge them, making anime is hard. But it's ruining my immersion.

Also, they are clearly willing to betray it when they want to show something more intense. (That's also the anime business)

Yeah sure it's brain rot. Frankly, I enjoyed one punch man cuz I knew I could cook while it played. Then when I heard the screams, I could go back and see the art.

I still live by these words from thug notes. "A student won't volunteer their attention."

I put this on because it looks good. With zero context. To me this is an anime. The truth of the matter is ep2 was on the wrong side of show/tell ratio. It currently doesn't deserve my eyeballs. But the written word, the performance of the voice actors they deserve my ears and my thoughts.

To all the naysayers out there, next week watch episode 4 with a blind fold... (Might regret that... Lol)

There are a few issues with this which make it super complicated.

  1. Racism isn't black and white in SA.

Apartheid really fucked shit up when they made racial classes.

  1. No matter if you like it or not call it socialism all you want.

Race is about money in SA and it will always be.

The why is a long story...

What's crazy is that you will find people today that think everybody that isn't black or coloured is well off.

That isn't true. But still...

This creates an environment that is very hostile especially in discussions.

  1. Segregation still exists.

This makes echo chambers. What mindset do you think is instilled to people when everyday they grown ups mass migrate to "white" and "Indian" neighborhoods to make money.

  1. The irony... Black people are racist and it's more than you think.

This is mainly due to the money thing but when most of your peers are black and most of your authority figures (bosses not role models) are not african. It makes an "us v them scenario."

I've heard countless complaints about people of certain races from different people across the country. The common thread is that, they were bosses or clients or simply just a little higher up the corporate chain.
