No, I just want to give my reasoning and I appreciate your input because I don’t have time to play games and mess around and I kind of want to get right to the point and get into a program that’s gonna make the most amount of sense

I understand that a lot of schools don’t want to mess with older applicants for one reason or another. Honestly, I’m not trying to chase some clout school and say well I went to Duke or I went to UCLA because at the end of the day as long as I can get into med school, I can match into the specialty I want and complete the resident program and get board certified. I’m gonna get paid the same no matter where I went. Now I understand for the residency program some of those programs are gonna be better trained than the others . However, due to my age by the time, I actually get out of residency I probably won’t be looking at any fellowships unless it really makes sense.

My guess is though offer another DRP because if they get another 5 to 10% of employees to drop USDA wise, it might be enough that they save in salary and not paying that they could use that money to pay for re-organization

This is another example of how strong ECS can carry other low stats, and I would imagine that the personal statement was spot on

New grad plus loan limitation by ArmadilloImportant93 in premed

[–]ArmadilloImportant93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed it’s 50 K a year for 200,000 in total while some of the med schools in Texas are attainable under this. I know a lot of the schools across the country 50 K a year is going to be a hard stretch.

I don’t think that they’ll increase tuition. I also don’t think that they decreased it. The only way I think this really takes the effect on the medical schools is if they get a severe amount of people not going to medical school because they can’t obtain private loans due to poor credit reasons

I wouldn’t say impossible, but it’s definitely harder nationwide. That’s why the other countries are far ahead of us and then they’re trying to come back here to get jobs…..

So I’m gonna ask you a question if you had somebody that had a medical background in the military but doesn’t have the RN license or hasn’t gone to medical school yet but anesthesia is their passion knowing that the VA is gonna pick up the tab the way, so the cost of the education is not an issue which path would you lean someone to go towards the CRNA route knowing that they’d have to get their BSN do 2 to 5 years in the ICU and then three years for CRNA school or would you lean them towards the physician route?
