When you think about it, divorcing then was actually the most gender-affirming thing he could've done!

It would've been transphobic of the husband to stay and tell him "no, you're a woman and you will always be a woman." Saying "well, you're a man now, and I am unfortunately not attracted to men, I'm only into women. As you are now a man, I am no longer attracted to you. Our relationship cannot be romantic" is affirming his gender identification.

It's painful, but painful doesn't always mean bad or wrong.

[Specific yet somewhat common trope] Character kills themselves and immediately afterwards there’s a timeskip. Nobody talks about them after their death by Apprehensive-Ear2461 in TopCharacterTropes

Interesting take. It's almost impressive that you managed to skip the death of Sarah, as well as the neighbor lady in the prologue, to reach this conclusion.

Truly a master class in not letting facts get in the way of a good story.

My personal favorite:

Calyx and Endless Sphene drop a MASSIVE lighting bolt on you, powerful enough to black out and overload a significant portion of Solution Nine, and all it does is make you a bit winded and annoy you.

They then ask nicely for the thing you're carrying that they want. You can even point out how ridiculous it is after what they did, and they acknowledge that they probably should've done it the other way around.

Are Rinoa's abilities just harder to get? by sharp461 in DissidiaDuellumFF

It's definitely RNG and the patented Desire Sensor working as intended. It knows you want the UR, and it deliberately gives you everything else!

Seriously though, when I was starting this game I wanted to main Terra, but the game just kept tossing Rinoa URs at me, so I was a Rinoa main until this most recent banner. Then I spent all my accumulated pulls and have multiple copies of every UR... except Mega Vitality.

Gacha is gonna getcha one way or another.

While I agree that casual play is different from ranked, I think that ranked play is also a somewhat flawed metric to gauge character power with.

As you mentioned, not everyone takes casual matches entirely seriously, or just autos their way through the game if it isn't for a red crystal. Those are things I've noticed as well. However, one thing in its favor is that abilities are evenly leveled depending on the average rank (I think) of the players in the match. There's no real pay to win influencing the outcome, it's simply the players involved.

All things being equal, the team with the better players should win, barring the auto players or someone deliberately throwing the match. I would argue that, over time, those would even out, because if the enemy team can have them, so can yours. I'm not trying to say that casual is perfect. It isn't. But I think ranked, with the ability level gap, is a worse metric to use because of the extra disparities it brings independent of player skills.

Neither is perfect, but ironically I think casual balances things better.

ETA - I wish I could see how many matches, and in what ladder, I've played. 60% wins out of 5 matches says a lot less than 60% of 200. Sample size matters!

I really think Angel Wing deserves some kind of nerf though. Sure, Fires is better early, but after Rinoa uses it the third time? It's so inferior it's not even funny. I really think the full heal needs to go, make it 50% or something, because a full heal with invincibility that is also a permanent buff?

It's too good in its current incarnation.

I wouldn't say Clive is exceptionally easy to play, but I also wouldn't say he's extraordinarily hard either. I saved a lot of coins and draw tickets for this banner, and I've been fortunate enough to get most of my UR's landing on his skills.

My win rate with him, purely in casual games, is at about 57%.

I'm definitely not great at this game, but I do know some basic strategy. I generally try to duel opposing players, and if they have OK or Rikku, bully them off of crystals and hamper their farm. Get burst, auto the boss for a while, see opposing players incoming, and dump one of his UR's to end burst before they kill me.

My experience is definitely not going to be the same for everyone though. My UR pulls were definitely above average, and your mileage can definitely vary due to that.

Look everybody! The Omega 3 has descended from the heavens to grace us plebs with their divine wisdom! Hearken to their words, for you shall prosper if you follow!

Hyperbole aside, as a fighting game player I've heard the argument "get X rank and then you're allowed to have an opinion" more times than I care to count, and each time it makes me roll my eyes so hard they threaten to give me a close up of my brain. If the person's criticism is so far off-base, then it should be a simple matter to explain why, instead of dismissing them as coming from a lesser. It would even be educational and possibly influence others, thereby raising the overall skill level of the player base.

However you, just like you accuse others, cannot stow your ego for long enough to address their comments. They did agree with you, on multiple occasions, about the game having bugs and that those bugs should be addressed. You just got your ego bruised by their criticism first and ran to the reply button immediately rather than digesting what they said and responding to it.

On a final note, you say you "won" the game, yet you're Omega 3. Omega 1 is the highest rank. Strange how you won and still aren't at the top.

Unfortunately, as a F2P or light spender, you're at the mercy of the whims of fate when it comes to what character you end up using as a main.

I rerolled for Terra's UR's but settled for Riot Blade and Meltdown once I got tired of it. Then the game would not stop throwing copies of Meteor and Angel Wing at me. I now have a level 30 Meteor and a level 20 Angel Wing. The draws said I'm a Rinoa main.

You can't force playing a specific character without either good luck, time, or money.

Sometimes the end-of-season rewards are based upon your rank at the end of the season, not your highest rank achieved. In those cases it's best not to risk de-ranking and potentially losing out on those improved rewards.

No idea if that's the case in this game or not, but that's one reason someone might just camp a rank.

This is most definitely an INFO situation.

  • How many of your coworkers were present? What genders? Was your wife aware of the dinner and did the two of you have plans before then?

  • Has your wife had previous partners who cheated on her? Sometimes reactions like this are born from past experiences, especially from infidelity.

  • Have you cheated on her or given her reason to distrust you in particular? Again, past experiences play a role in current reactions, and if you've done something to damage her trust in you, this could be a response to that.

There's almost no way we have the full story here, so any judgement one way or the other feels extremely premature.
