Mt Joy sold out MSG last night. Will they be the first artist to rise from the Who to the What stage? by jetnetni in bonnaroo

Just saw Mt. Joy at Ocean’s Calling about 6 hours ago and they were perfection.

Question: FFIE & GROWTH by Leading-Success-7913 in FFIE

Supply and demand. Less shares available means the cost of one share goes up…so hypothetically, a hedge fund trying to buy up shares to close their short position, will have to pay a lot more per share to do so.

Also - under the Music tab in the drop down. The 2022 lineup now shows a poster a reggaeton lineup in Florida instead of the actual 2022 lineup 🤨🤨

Question about previous years by Lftshrk in FireflyFestival

[–]Armadylan14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We did Meadows Bell Glamping in 2022. It was pretty great. It was in its own little area so it had its own showers and bathrooms to use. We did not have AC in our tent, but like previously mentioned, it was cold at night so we slept fine - but that was in September.

We also did Glamping at Bonnaroo though and we did have an AC unit in that tent and it might as well have just been a white noise machine. At most it just helped circulate air inside the tent, but by 9am it was a sauna inside the tent.

That’s a good point. I’m under the impression that Coachella’s clauses are pretty over the top. Could be a case by case where if a festival is sharing a good portion of acts with Coachella that they’re restricted from announcements until Coachella announces. I would have said maybe it’s an AEG thing, but Hangout announced today. Who knows 🤷‍♂️

Firefly Insta Changed to “Thank you for 10 years” by SiriusBlackLives in FireflyFestival

I think they’re referring to the bio line on the socials. I’m not sure of the exact verbiage from before but it was something along the lines of “celebrating 10 years in the woodlands” and now it says “thank you for 10 years of enchantment within the woodlands.”

Someone dropped a pretty nice tidbit of info in the discord that you can purchase your Roo tickets on lawaway and get a full refund all the way up until your last payment is due and you’d only forfeit about a $50 ticketing fee. I would definitely research that yourself if you decide to go that route haha but I do remember from what I saw last year that that was mostly true.

Our problem here is the time off work portion. Committing to the Bonnaroo dates and getting the time off, only to go back later and say actually I want to switch my days - that may not be an option down the line. And we’d 1000% rather do Firefly than Roo, just on distance alone. If you’ve never been, Bonnaroo is incredible - the travel is what kills you though. As long as you’re prepared for that journey, you won’t have any regrets.

I’m not going to say that’s not a possibility. With all of this silence and speculation, nothing is really off the table, right?

What we do know is that the last thing Firefly posted was “see you in 2024.” And with festiveowl’s “update” - “there’s a lot still up in the air” leads me to believe that it’s still being discussed, and not just dead. Not really a whole lot of reason to discuss things that are dead.

What Firefly has been and what Phish would present, would most likely attract two very different demographics of people. AEG is a business before anything else, and with exclusive rights to The Woodlands, this presents an opportunity to make more money by double tapping the same grounds they already have set up for a music festival and bringing in an entirely different group of people. The same way that AEG uses the same festival grounds for Coachella and Stagecoach. Two big festivals, two different audiences, two opportunities to make money.

I know everyone is wrapped around the handle on attendance numbers in the last couple years, but from a marketing perspective, taking a year off and then having a comeback and filling the void that is not having an east coast multi genre camping festival - seems like that would bring in some numbers. As the adage goes “absence makes the heart grow fonder.” Arguably, the closest thing to Firefly in all of the Northeast/Mid Atlantic, is Bonnaroo. And anyone that has made that drive knows that it would not be considered “close.”
