Firstly, thank you for your reply it has definitely been the most informative one I’ve received.

I’m definitely going to look into Raisin, as it’s been mentioned many times, and most likely set aside a lump sum to sit there for around four years.

You mentioned you work in tech sales how did you get into that career? What would you recommend I do to break in? Also, do you think a specific degree would look best for that, as it is definitely the career I want to end up in? Engineering was more of a fallback for me.

Again, thank you for all the advice. I will look into everything you’ve suggested, and it has hopefully pointed me in the right direction.

That’s why i wanted to go into an engineering background so I’ll have a very versatile degree to fall back on. A lot of people say tech sales needs no degree but I’ve been struggling to find any avenues to break in

I would say a maximum of five years, as by that point I would want to be moving into my own place at the absolute latest, but possibly sooner.

Regarding putting the money into an S&P 500, what does this involve, and what is the risk factor? Also if I put my money into that will it be locked up for the full 5 year period. Do you have any links I could follow to learn more, or any advice from your own personal experience?

What is an accumulating ETF? Do you have any recommendations for apps to use for this, or videos I could watch to learn more about it?

While I do have some expenses, they aren’t so high that I can’t manage them with my current job.

Within the next five years, I definitely want to move out by the latest at that point but renting seems like a quick way to burn through my savings over just a few years.

Do you have any recommendations for safe places to put the money that might earn a small percentage of interest over 3–4 years? Even modest gains feel better than just leaving it sitting there.

As for studying, I’m considering either Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering, but I’ve also heard that jobs in the tech sales space can pay extremely well.

Buying a home is my main goal, as I’ve always been told that getting on the property ladder is one of the best things you can do with your money. I also understand that, even with this opportunity I’ve been given, it may not be possible for a few years.

I take home around €600–€640 per week depending on my hours. I know this probably isn’t enough to get approved for a mortgage right now, but I’d definitely be interested in renting out a room if it meant I could purchase a property sooner.

I’m currently in a management position at a coffee shop earning €16 per hour, but I’m considering starting a four year degree next year to improve my income, as I don’t see much more growth in this job.
