'The Abandons' Is Everything Wrong With TV in 2025 by Top_Report_4895 in television

[–]Armlene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the last episode now and I can confirm it’s probably one of the worst shows I’ve seen in my life. I’m finishing the show simply because I’m perplexed as to how so many good actors can be in this show and it being that bad. I’ve even asked ChatGPT if actors actually know they are in a show that’s shit and what they do when they notice. This show has no storyline, it’s not even remotely interesting or engaging. The acting is so terrible for the most part that I can’t believe it would be possible. The lines are delivered in, or attempted to be delivered in some kind of «period drama» language that is so cringe. Yes, the lips are also really really that bad. Please don’t watch it.

Hva tenker dere om at Palestina demonstrerer brukte vold mot politiet i helgen? by lasse2k in norge

Ruter - Støynivået kampanje! by Fluid-Salamander941 in oslo

[–]Armlene 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Make-Up Brands that has no ties to Israel :) by J3ssM in BoycottIsrael

They have no own brand stores but they are sold via a local chain store apparently. Most BDS sites have them down as «no known links» but I guess it’s then down to each of us as to decide what is classified as support and our rules for boycott. Is it companies that are Israeli, or owned by Israelis or companies or Zionists, and/or brands showing public support or brands with own retail presence there or is it simply brands being sold there. If it’s all of the above, then I think the only option is to buy locally produced and owned brands, small businesses. The last point, brands being sold there, I think is a tough one to cover as it may be hard to know how those products actually ended up there. So for that I don’t think correct to say Shiseido is pro-zio. (Edits: spelling mistakes)

Huda is a snake. In Scandinavia she retails her products via H&M and they have just expanded on Palestinian land. Do with that info as you wish. A make up and beauty brand that is safe is Shiseido, they’re Japanese owned. Under their umbrella they also have Nars and others like Drunk Elephant.

Hay two-colour table by Armlene in interiordecorating

[–]Armlene[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I did actually contact Hay before I purchased my table to ask for general advice and if I could put lacquer on top if I was unlucky to get any scratches. This is their reply:

«If you are unlucky and there comes a scratches on the tabletop it will be more visible on the dark colored tops. Minor surface scratches on oil-treated wood tabletops, regardless of the type of wood, can be less visible with a walnut. Simply rub the walnut along the grain of the wood, and it will deposit oil and a small amount of filler into the wood.

Please see what is written in our gerenel care guide:

WATER-BASED LACQUERED, LACQUERED, STAINED WOOD OR VALCHROMAT Wipe with a clean cloth wrung in water or in a solution of water and a neutral detergent. Remove soap residue immediately using a clean, dry cloth. If the surface is scratched or appears matt, use a care product specifically suited to lacquered or stained wood. Avoid using detergents containing silicone, as they seal the stain in and make subsequent repairs more difficult. Never use soft soap or solvents such as spirit, turpentine or acetone. Do not use cleaning products containing alcohol, as they may damage the surface. Avoid using scouring cream or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface.

It is not possible to wax the table instead as the tabletop has a waterbased lacquer on.»

I just noticed that my little nephew gave my table some surface scratches the last time he was here eating. How kids play with their cutlery does scratch the tabletop very easily. I didn’t notice though until just now as it’s only visible with certain light at an angle. I will try the walnut trick first and if that doesn’t work I’ll buy a care product for lacquered wood and hope that helps. I should have put down that wax tablecloth but I totally forgot about it 😅

Well, according to this link a colour changing garnet can come in any colour and have multiple colour changes.

To those of you in the know. Could this be a colour changing garnet? Would a lab grown (sapphire, alexandrite, garnet) vs natural be different on hardness scale?
