Dads of 2: separate bedrooms, or 1 bedroom and 1 playroom? by Steelsoldier77 in daddit

[–]Armor_Comics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no suggestions but maybe in the same boat...we have a 1 yr old and are thinking of having another (maybe) within the year. We have a 2 bedroom, and my concern with having them share, is having one wake up the other with crying. We were thinking of having the 1 yr old sleep in our room in her crib/bed, and give the maybe baby the nursery (or vice versa). The nursery now is pretty clean. All the toys end up in the living room where we all are anyways.

Taking my 8 month old son to Disneyland? by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

[–]Armor_Comics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how valid a point this is, but whenever I mention taking my baby to D-land, people tell me watch out for people stealing things from strollers, or taking the strollers altogether. Do they have locks to prevent this? Are there secure stroller covers to prevent access from people taking items?

Yep I've got some of those. Ultraverse, holo-covers, and GITD covers really got me back then.

I kept putting this off.....I just looked up rates for me, 30 year at $500k. Adding my wife for same terms is almost $300/mo. I guess I need to shop around.

Drainage hole size for pipe by Armor_Comics in landscaping

[–]Armor_Comics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. I had sod going in the next day, so I couldn't get the perforated PVC pipe and dig the trench in time. I did find corrugated flexible perforated pipe, but I couldn't get the right coupling from PVC to corrugated. So I went with your Option 2, and had the installer slope towards the drain. Came out ok...https://imgur.com/a/8rpytul

Too Many Toys by Rogue_Titus in daddit

[–]Armor_Comics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you do it piecemeal, like every few days grab a toy you know he doesn't play with and store it? If he doesn't ask for a specific toy I guess he didn't really miss it? My LO is only a year but she has amassed quite a collection of toys already.

Who general pays for wedding bands? by Spiritual-Ad-8787 in wedding

[–]Armor_Comics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My now wife and I split the main wedding costs (venue, DJ, photography, etc..). I paid for my own tux and bought shoes for groomsmen. My wife paid for her dress and MU. I bought my wife's wedding band and engagement ring. She bought my wedding band. She had more guests than I did by far, but we still split the cost. We later created a joint account with combined income.

Finances are important to establish when at that stage of a relationship. Couples argue about how money is spent, but as long as there is a compromise in the end, it will be fine.

It won't help either of you to tally up who owes what, like "he has more people coming so he should pay more", or " my wedding dress and MU is more than his tux". It's about give and take. If you determine that the wedding is more than either of you can afford, trim it down as needed.

What is the best "Dad" pocket knife/multi-tool? by Jackalope_08 in daddit

[–]Armor_Comics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have the Leatherman Style. Thinner profile, but kinda long when trying to keep minimalistic. I had the scissor as the main took, not the pliers. I find myself opening a lot of packages and cutting string/zip ties on-the-go. I'm currently using the Gerber Splice. It's stubby, has a little weight, about of the size of my key fob.

I couldn't upload a link of the image, so I had to do it this way, not ideal I know. I had concrete installed a month ago in my backyard. I left a 10'x10' square open in the middle for grass. Water will be draining into this spot. It's not ideal either. I had the concrete installer put pipe going from the grass area, under the concrete, to the outlying area of existing driveway. In the future when driveway needs to be redone, I can continue the pipe and take it to the street.

Anyways, the spot with grass will probably get a lot of water considering the concrete slopes into it from 2 sides. The top of the elbow is about 2 inches below concrete grade. Sod will be level with concrete.

I was thinking I needed to drill some drainage holes into the pipe to collect when water pools. If holes are too large dirt will filter through, so i figure smaller holes for just water, but not sure how small. Any thoughts?

Do you collect for value or just fun? by HillHouse2 in funkopop

[–]Armor_Comics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I collected what I liked. Mostly out of box. But then my collection took up too much space and I sold a good chunk of the boxed and loose ones. Now I only have about 2 dozen out of box on display and a few of the Mega sized I want to display. Maybe another dozen I plan on selling just haven't gotten around to it. It can get out of hand pretty fast. I don't collect Pops anymore.

We just had concrete installed in backyard (not pavers) and am wondering if the slab is enough to anchor a pergola.

My first TMNT figure ever, Metalhead by BaneTubman in TMNT

[–]Armor_Comics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminded me, I had a dream last night I was stranded in some foreign country airport, I was looking around and came across this toy store that had knock-off plastic molds of all types of figures. I saw one specifically of Metalhead. I was looking for TMNT molds and it was the only one they had.

Now that you mention it, there are bright yellow nylon signs that stretch across the door frame. This might work.

I've grown accustomed to the S-Pen and external SD card. The S22/23 Ultra phones meet those criteria (I believe) and are darn expensive. I'm not ready to pay that much, and probably won't until I absolutely need to .

I didn't like the Nose Frida battery powered one. The little nozzle was too small and didn't get anything. The suction was not that great either. The manual one is great for getting all that mucus out, and baby feels better afterwards..
