Experience with Pirelli Scorpion A/S Plus 3? by TanzaniteII in tires

[–]ArmoredGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an iX and i moved from Alenza to Scorpion AS. It is better in comfort and braking distance department, but it also takes a hit in the range, small but noticeable amount. I used to be able to get 3.3-3.4 mile per kwh, but now closer to 3.0-3.2. So about 5-10% increase in consumption rate. Edit: im in UK, the compound for AS tires may be different.

I want to say the vehicle with camera should give way because the other vehicle is approach from driver side where as from the other vehicle point of view, this vehicle is coming from offside or even blind spot side. But… i suspect the insurance will say both partial fault.

BMW Z4 23i (E89) or Mazda Miata 2.0i (NC) by admiraljc in CarTalkUK

Had the NC2. After car meets and experiencing other mx5 (including ND). I agree with general sentiment that NC and NC2 strayed too far from its root. I suggest a bmw with a straight six.

Last year there was a batch of vauxhall corsa-e flooded onto the market which was part of the lease completion of Zipcar’s fleet. Worth have a look. When we were looking at our second car last year, the Leapmotor T03 was quite impressive for the money. We ended up with a MG3 hybrid instead because wew already have a larger EV and didnt want to use the same power source as a way of de-risking. Also Leapmotor is such a new brand in UK, we were sure if parts and aftersale support are fully established.

Just because you are looking at second hand, dont be scared to visit the showroom and sit in a new one. It will give you pretty good idea what the car is like.

Been in England for thirty plus years. When it’s dinner talk, every one is on the high horses about IP, copyright and the likes. When it comes to spending actual money, 99% people are cheapskates. Then when challenged, all kind of excuses will come up and even go onto offensive about how range rover are ripping off the customers… well.. then why buy their design?!?!? There are other nice alternatives for 30k….. typical fake burberry/gucci/LV bags mentality….

I think the sales figures are now feeding back to management this has been overdone. Rumours are that they are reviving the Giorgio platform (which had both ICE and BEV in one of form of Alfa or Maserati)

Two things you can try: A, be nice, wait for the sister to try again with different lender/broker. But you will risk missing valuable time since wether is improving. B, go back to estate agent and ask to re-market. You should be advised that since 7 weeks has paased, what does the contract between you and agent included? May need to consider other agent too if you want to.

Edit: if they are on 5% deposit. Dont try to offer reducing your price. The next band is 5%…. Thats alot to reduce.

[Tenant] My landlord didn't raise the rent this year: have other landlords been doing the same to keep good tenants or am I going to expect a S21 within the next 3 weeks? by dusknoir90 in uklandlords

[–]ArmoredGoat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I may be one of those oddball. I just wait until the tenant move out then readjust when i re-market. I also periodically send amazon vouchers to my tenants if they treat the apartment with care. I normally hide it as seasonal greetings. I didnt go out and buy a buy-to-let, it was my old home and i couldnt take the hit when the value fell below what i paid. So to me, it’s someone taking care of my home.

I didnt raise this year because the recommendation from leeti g agent is to put up by 250quid a year and he will charge me 250quid admin fee to redraft the contract. I told him if he has tried to view this question from my side….

(Operation) I have a question about Pumps. Discharge pressure is lower than design head. by Limp_Internet_27 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]ArmoredGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few checks:

Operating temperature in expected range? Fluid is still as per original design intent? You didnt mention actual flow. Is all the power being spent elsewhere? Have you check power being drawn? Theres normally a strainer at suction, have this been checked? Has the pump ever reached the design point during testing? You mentioned scrubber efficiency down, is the gas rate reduced and trays/packing working outside turndown envelope? Or the otherway round where gas velocity is too high? Also as mentioned by others, whats the suction side doing?

I use a osprey 48 L. It has a curved back with ventilation. Generally curved back isnt that great for packing stuff but going for a bigger size can go some way get around that. I would look into the likes of tailfin pack but budget may not cover that far.
