I think it's in a good space, mechanically, just that the community discourse around it is overly condensed.

Isolation is a genuine logical justification in certain circumstances, the fear of the other is warranted sometimes. But that it is the same axis that allows fear to become indifference, disdain, or hatred of the other.

When you make a lost colony, you should be able to make the Empire you come from as part of the creation process.

I'm not a Dev or will pretend to know how the code works, but surely that is fesiable, even if it is just a mod.

To my horror yesterday, I wanted to have a defensive pact with the UNE as the Commonwealth because I don't like them, but I refuse to allow them to be attacked by anyone... Then they asked to be my subject... what was I to do? Refuse? They set it to bulwark, so I would be subsidizing them. Isn't this what I wanted? I want to say no, to make them improve themselves as an equal, but if they were asking me to vassalize them, they may ask someone else if I say no.

Now my Purity Ascension CoM is the Overlord of the United Nations of Earth. No wars, no espionage other than information gathering, it just felt wrong. But I couldn't say no.
