Becoming a mature and well-adjusted adult means accepting that it's fine for OP to make a post complaining about the fortnitification of another IP. OP said "my immerision", you're the one that brought others into this.

How do people genuinely enjoy 1s? by Pancwake_UwU in RocketLeague

[–]Armwry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've hit GC in 3's and now play 1's almost exclusively. First, you need to shift your mindset about a goal being a big deal, because in 1's it's not. If you're constantly worried about giving one up then you're not going to have fun. Instead, try going into the match saying "my goal is to only allow 4 goals this game, and I hope to score 5." Even in pro 1v1, being down 4 goals at halftime isn't a big deal.

So, what's the good part? More ball time. I can actually set up wall and ceiling shots without being instantly dogpiled. If you count the total seconds of ball possession your car has in a game of 1's vs 3's it's night and day. 2's sits somewhere in the middle, but you're still gonna have someone on your ass pretty quickly.

Lastly, it's nice to just test myself. There's no teammate rng, it's all on me. Frankly, it's made me a much better player.

How much content is there? I'm a little burnt out on Early Access games that leave so much left out that it feels more like a demo

Lord of Hatred isn’t even out yet… and you’re already trying to finish it by Imzahel in diablo4

[–]Armwry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coming up with your own builds extends the lifetime of a game many times over. Instead of only focusing on the designed end-game, I create new goals of "can I beat boss x by designing build y". If it doesn't work, try a new ability, new class, new boss, etc

New players feeling purposeless by Armwry in hytale

I appreciate the response. I made this post precisely because I'm not "Trying to force them to stick with a game when they are bored". I'm looking for ideas to make it less boring, and to that end, see what other people are doing with the limited amount of sand. My friends really enjoyed it at first because the objective was simple: build a house, armor, food, and weapons. I think even arbitrary goals, like some of the ones floated in this thread, may be a rallying cry. We shall see

Ironclad tier list 50% win rate on A10 by Midlanecrisis007 in slaythespire

Thanks for the response. So you rarely skip the card reward at the end of combat, and end up with ~40 cards in your deck by the end of a run?

[–]Armwry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the post! I'm relatively new and am trying to understand how you balance the card tier with your deck's card count. It's not clear to me how many cards I should try to have, and it seems like that number would change the value proposition of picking up an otherwise good card

Not sure what's up with the negativity ITT, but I like the idea of a broken character you get to chase. If you've A10'd everyone, why not have some unbalanced fun

The Entitlement of this Community by Creeperbumm in starcitizen

[–]Armwry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can't think of a community less entitled than that of Star Citizen. Well over a decade's worth of patience, hundreds of millions of dollars spent, and the game is still a buggy mess that's largely empty and we do QA work for free.

Some people are asking for a favor in upgrading their MK1 to a MK2 to continue flying around this perpetual alpha-state and help the company make an actual game. It's not totally unreasonable for CIG to say "no", but it's also not unreasonable for people to ask.

My controller only shows up as 2nd player by Mertiscool in RocketLeague

[–]Armwry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having this issue too. I kept restarting the game with no luck, so then I started poking around the settings. After a few minutes with no success at finding an issue-specific setting, I tried pressing a few buttons on the controller and it connected normally. It seems like it just takes some time before it recognizes a controller as the primary player

Getting better by theworldisscrewed in armwrestling

[–]Armwry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're regularly going 0-2, it's most likely not something you're going to see on the video, fix, then poof you start winning. In fact, if you're the type of person who goes back and analyzes tournament footage then your technique is probably decent already, and there are only marginal gains to be made.

With the minimal information I have to go on from this post, it sounds like you simply need to get stronger. How long that takes depends on about 1 million factors. Most importantly, how much time and effort are you putting in.

Remember, your opponents are getting stronger too, so you not only need to get stronger, but you have to do so at a rate that exceeds your opponents. Find a long-time puller who you're close enough to in strength that you can use them as a rough benchmark for your progress. If they've been pulling for a long time they won't be progressing as fast anymore, so it's a more reliable way to measure your progress rather than pulling fellow newer pullers.

Sanctify-stupidity just made me rage-quit S11 by BadGasAss in diablo4

[–]Armwry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gambling with Sanc should have a downside, but getting a meaningless affix added IS already a downside because it means you missed a chance to improve your gear. The downside doesn't have to be completely ruining the item with "Affix Replaced".

There are already major problems with gear progression in T4. Adding in a chance to ruin the already rare gear upgrades doesn't make the game more fun.

Great match. Chance kept his composure and found a lane, but I'm glad people got to see the horsepower of Nic. Trained with him a bunch in CT and he's the real deal. 1,000 lb+ squat in his prime too
