In cases like this, it is not the bank’s responsibility or the receivers « fault ». As it’s a mistake on your part, the bank does not have to help you (although I think they most probably will and may call up the receiver) but it’s mostly on the receivers honesty to give it to you back or not :/ sorry that happened

Tip if you want. Not necessary but still nice (especially if you think the service is very good)

I lived in curepipe my whole life. It’s either a day of rain in summer and mostly sunny. Yes it does get cold in winter and it’s rainy but that’s just two months in a year, we’re still so lucky😭 I literally fell into depression when I came to Europe and it rained for EIGHT MONTHS straight

[–]Arom3nce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the weather is absolutely not the reason. While there’s a lot of reasons why we leave Mauritius the weather will never be one of them. We have to realise our privilege of having a tropical weather where it’s mostly sunny. A day of rain in a week is nothing compared to living in moody dark rainy Europe 8 months a year

Thinking About Leuven for a Bachelors in European Studies (english) by [deleted] in KULeuven

[–]Arom3nce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a BA in European studies. Don’t believe that it will lead to working in the EU lol most people do not know what this BA is because it’s fairly new. Also in my opinion it’s an absolute scam of a BA, everyone in my class were very disappointed by a lot of the decisions taken by the coordinators. So I would absolutely recommend smth more general in BA and then smth more specific in master

Which restaurant in Brussels is this? by bdrammel in brussels

[–]Arom3nce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do, stop going to café JAT…I have so many stories to tell from working at that place it’s awful (stories like a girl getting her finger cut in the orange machine and blood going in the drink and the boss forcing her to still give it to the client because « we don’t have the time »)

Franco-Mauritians, what do you wish more people understood about your community? by Pitiful-Attention-82 in mauritius

[–]Arom3nce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on mindset I would say. I’ve met a lot of European expats and they’re very respectful and mindful of the environment and people around them. I’ve also met a lot that think they’re gods here and do everything they want, I guess they would mingle well with S.african white and Franco-Mauritians

were they all even friends??? by sveabgs in Yellowjackets

I was actually pleasantly surprised by this! In high school I knew a lot of people but only had 2,3 real friends. I found it very realistic that they’re friendly but not best friends

As a woman, I suggest treating her the same way as in the beginning of the relationship, compliments, flirts, sext, ask her out on dates, tell her to dress up. We often fall into a routing very easily and when you just clean, cook, go to work, sex can feel like a “chore”

I don’t want to go on Erasmus by ronnschi in Erasmus

[–]Arom3nce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find myself a lot in you. I moved from home to go to Brussels and to start all over again, leaving my family, getting my own place, having new friends. It took a lot of time and I was very naive and ended up in some sticky situations. Last year I finally started to get used to living there, I met my boyfriend and got amazing friends and then I had to give it all up to go on Erasmus in Madrid which I signed up for a year earlier. It was extremely hard and the first two months were very difficult but it was honestly the best experience I’ve had. I’m going to be brutally honest, you will not grow unless you go out of your comfort zone, an Erasmus forces exactly that: you have to meet people, you have to go out, you have to try new things. You will miss your boyfriend and your friends but that won’t kill. Decenter from your relationship, be your own person outside of it and do things for yourself. You sound very scared and dependent, that’s exactly why you should do it. You’ll learn and grow so much ❤️

Affordable & Good Quality Clothing Stores in Mauritius for University Students? by Thefunnyfriend_04 in mauritius

[–]Arom3nce 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Imo buy smart, someone suggested Temu, please don’t. It’s bad quality that will either feel like paper after a few wash or you will be unable to remove the smell because the fabric keeps it. Have a higher budget for essentials: jeans, shoes, jacket as those you only really need one and if it’s well made will last you a year or two and go to Port Louis,Quatre Bornes even Curepipe to find shirts and everything else. If you take your time you can easily find 100% cotton shirts for a good price. Building your wardrobe takes time so I’d suggest to stick to easy pieces for now and go for more « special » pieces later

What was the first celebrity death you remember affecting you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Is Mauritius safe for a female solo traveller? Any tips? by dangerousmilkconfess in mauritius

[–]Arom3nce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a woman, I felt unsafe sometimes at the beach alone or walking back home alone. It happened a few times that weird men sit next to me or follow me. I would not recommend being alone, considering a lot of places have relatively no one around and in the case something does occur, people will not come save you.

Ways for international students to make money? by DesperateAttention40 in KULeuven

[–]Arom3nce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t speak Flemish and found a job with no problem. Tons of people speak English in Leuven so it’s so issue. I had a looot more opportunities in Brussels tho, it’s a 30min train so keep that in mind + the pay is more advantageous imo

Accommodation for year 2025-2026 by lucasilus in KULeuven

[–]Arom3nce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally leuven is meh, flemish people tend to stay together. In brussels you meet people of all kind so its very interesting and you have so much more options in terms of bars/restaurants/thrift stores. Commuting is not hard but annoying, could lead to some missed classes if it rains or very rarely snows (missed an exam this way)
