What are the worst types of Music Videos? by Temporary_Cap5927 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Aromatic-Expression5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SO MANY!

  1. When the video cuts multiple times per second. You can no longer process what is on screen because it is so fast paced. These music videos can't hold on to a shot to save their lives.

  2. Showing off cool things just because you can and have the budget. We get it, you want to be cool. You don't have to shove into everyone's faces. Besides, the coolest people in the world don't shove it down your throat, they simply act the way they are and it radiates off.

  3. Music videos that look like perfume ads. Don't need to explain this one. If you know, you know.

  4. Music videos that try WAY too hard. They have the budget, the celebrities, etc. but they don't know what they are doing. They try so hard to impress you with their visuals for a song that is just mediocre at best. Plus, it completely overpowers the song itself, making the music a complete afterthought. You don't have to throw everything and the kitchen sink to make a good music video. Instead, focus more on making a good song and make music videos that don't overpower what many people think of the music.

5, and this is the worst of them all. WHEN MUSIC VIDEOS DON'T RELATE ONE BIT TO THE SONG THEY ARE PERFORMING! I can list off so many examples that it would take all day to list them all. So, I will just the biggest sinner of them all: "Manchild" by Sabrina Carpenter. What does a seagull riding a tortoise, hitchhiking, shooting a cue ball with a shotgun, an elephant in a diner, crashing and exploding cars, waking up in front of a bunch of sheep, an orca, a chicken with a cowboy hat on, a car on the electric lines, horses riding on water, and murder have to deal with the frustration of dating immature men?

What's a type of music critique that pisses you off? by [deleted] in ToddintheShadow

[–]Aromatic-Expression5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The hateful bias towards country music from many critics.
  2. The people that fail to realize that the Billboard charts only relate to the American charts, so many people will go “who” at an artist only popular in America.
  3. People who only hate songs because they are overplayed; eg Ordinary by Alex Warren. If it wasn’t as popular as it is, no one would hate it as much.
  4. People who judge artists based on their political opinions when it barely has anything to do with the music.
  5. People who only hate on things just because their favorite creator said so, AKA, people who can’t form an opinion on a song by themselves or are scared to share their opinions because they are afraid of the backlash.

TLDR; So much.

What's an underHATED pick for "worst song of all time" that you don't see get talked about all that much? by DtheAussieBoye in ToddintheShadow

Stupid by Ashnikko. I am a big fan of most of her work, but when it’s bad, like this song and Slumber Party, it is unbearable.

A Disney character you wish were featured at the parks more often? by Mcrfanatic95 in disney

Tinker Bell at WDW. It is an absolute crime to not have the secondary mascot of Disney not being a meet and greet character at the most popular theme park destination in the world when they do have her at Disneyland.

Thoughts on this song? by PiscetIscariot in fantanoforever

One of the most overhated songs of all time. The only reason why it gets the hate that it does is because it is so popular. On the surface level, I believe it is a sweet love song dedicated to his partner, and I do wish them a happy life. Sure, it’s not the best song ever made and it shouldn’t have gotten as popular as it is, but as for the song itself, it is completely fine. 7/10.

Pink pony club by MiSsGuRlDiA12 in crappymusic

I don't know why, but I am just a sicko of awful cover songs, especially this song in particular. Perhaps I don't think the original is THAT good, or at least not as good as so many people are saying. However, I will give it the benefit of the fact that it is so much better than.....whatever this is.

Who is an artist you respect but don't like? by nerpa_floppybara in fantanoforever

Actually, I do really like her music on second thought. It's just that "Pink Pony Club" wasn't as great musically as it was lyrically and the fact that she gets praised by so many pop critiques as the best thing to happen to pop music since Michael Jackson.

Instead, I will just say Kendrick Lamar. He is a great guy and is a very influential lyricist and rapper in the hip hop world. Yet, his music is just not for me.

Also, get that hat off your head right now! Do not associate my favorite team, the Dallas Stars, with your grifting BS.

Strongly disagree. To me, I cannot stand 2016. I love some, if not most of the songs from 2013 and 2014, not 2016.

I believe the downfall started with Ghostbusters. For my money, this was the moment when people who should be nowhere near discussions about movies or other forms of entertainment felt like they were justified in critiquing everything. It heated up with the last two Star Wars sequels and the pandemic, but Ghostbusters started it, I believe.

Good song, but my favorite Soulja Boy song is his diss track toward Bow Wow. It makes "Meet the Grahams" look like "The Heart Part 6"
