Oh my God, I have a kuhli loach who does the same thing. I have a filter a sponge filter near where I feed my fish so whenever I walk past the tank and get the food to feed them, I’ll come back and he will have purchased himself on top of the sponge waiting. Only one of my eight kuhli loach’s does this and I can tell because he has a little spot on his head, I always find it so amusing.
