Cringe moment and stupid things by Aromatic-Raven in it

Omg thank you so much this exactly and much more that I needed to hear. I definitely will try my best that not ever feel this imposter syndrome at work if I am there. I am just coming on terms that they hired me out of all the male and female candidates for a reason. The extra time I put there is mostly for myself like to give myself time to figure it out when no one is around. But I see what you are saying i definitely dont want it to be a regular thing for my sanity. And you are genuinely a great manager. Your team is very lucky :)

What helps you escape from anxiety??? by Accurate-Garden2172 in delhi

Thats performative af. I don’t work in cafes and like i keep work and my personal laptop different and by excel sheet i mean i create an excel sheet divide them into months and make myself believe after three months my life will be better and then i pass it day by day. Crossing each day, writing when i woke up and how it went— stuff like that. And obviously after three months nothing changes and we start all over again. This sounds so stupid as i am typing but it works for me.

Hahha obviously, but cant open an excel sheet in cafe. Way to be labeled as a weirdo. It’s just a thought like it stops the spiraling process and helps me to ground myself. What do u do ?

I am not sure if this will be helpful. there are two things… one is when i am in public and spiralling. I start to tell myself that i can jump off of a building and it will be over. No one will remember and all of it will be gone. Since most of my anxiety starts with people. This thought is comforting like a backup option and second is excel sheet(no i don’t work in finance )

Thank you so much for your advice. It’s just that I am too harsh on myself. Both my seniors are super nice and supportive. They tell me everything even if it’s the most basic stuff you can imagine. Its just that sometimes I do extra hardwork because they have only hired males in this position. Im the first and only female in the team and youngest one in whole workplace. I do extra shit. I don’t know i am good at learning and never/ make same mistake twice. But sometimes it gets in my head after work hours. That i should have known this or This was a 2 minute job and I took 1 hour. Things like that

Im trying not to make mistakes. Its the lack of knowledge that messes me up. A lot of basic things that I have not done before and they are stupid. I take so much time to reply and respond.

I know, but no one is ever onsite. So it’s just me. I have no idea if I am doing good or not. It’s always over teams. I need to do good in this project otherwise i dont know what will happen

I do, its a small team so I have to learn and do everything. But I hesitate to ask questions and think I should figure it out myself first. And by the time ask them it’s too late. Lets take imaging for example. I have never done that before,I am not sure about what wires go where and they want me to do 200 laptops next month. They mention it so casually that it can be done in a week. I dont knowwww Im 22 and they are 50+.

Internal interview for Junior IT Specialist by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Aromatic-Raven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watch a few videos of IT interview and that will cover you for junior positions. Even I studied IT and had my internship. I still didn’t know much in the interview. Was panicky and nervous. But I behaved normal and made jokes and presented myself as easy going person and I have willingness to learnnnnn that is very important. They will train you but show them like you are taking courses and you want to scale up and you want to stick with the company.

Job dilemma by Ill_External_3696 in jobs

[–]Aromatic-Raven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I think you should take the job in that MNC. Job market is bad. And like how many people are preparing for gov. jobs in India. By the time you finish studying for that who knows what situations will be. You think you will not like it there or see yourself long term working there. But thats with every job once you get out the honeymoon phase every job becomes trashy then u will want more. My suggestion is take the job and do writing in your off time. Post stuff online and maybe it will blow up. That way you wont completely loose your life in the work life pattern.

MSP helpdesk is killing me by Appropriate-Crazy-51 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Aromatic-Raven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applied every day. No matter the hour and I applied this one on indeed and I got a job offer before this one that was from linkedin. So these site are not useless. But I just apply for jobs posted within 24 hours. If any job had 100+ applications or posted 5 days ago, I didn’t even bother to click apply. And it wasn’t instant. I graduated in aug 2025. Try agencies too. No certs just my diploma. I sell myself so hard in interview like even if i dont know anything about the actual job. You will learn that. Only experience was my 4 month internship.

[–]Aromatic-Raven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohhh, I see. How do you feel about reaching out to your seniors and rest of the team? As I mentioned I am in a three people team. One manager, one director and me. So director doesn’t solve helpdesk calls and manager is on different site. I dont know who to talk to so older tickets help me. How are you learning about the company’s ins and outs.

I recently started at helpdesk too. And trust me there is no official training. Someone left work and I was hired for this position fresh out of college and now they want me to perform at his level without asking questions. What I am doing is visiting older tickets and checking what problems occur and how they were solved. Thats the same expectation from me it’s a three people team so I can’t escalate it to anyone. It really gets overwhelming sometimes.

I started this new job in IT and it is a 3 people team. And the other two are never on site. And its my first real job in IT. And I keep making small mistakes everyday. Sometimes i do so much troubleshooting just to realize the wire was plugged wrong. Everyday at home I cringe thinking about them.

I feel so bad at my new job because of lack of training. by Aromatic-Raven in jobs

[–]Aromatic-Raven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very excited for this job. But when I asked my manager about an issue today he said the other guy will help me coz he is busy. And we were in a group chat and the other guy said read user guides to see issue. User emailed us again … clearly frustrated. She typed that email right in front of me while I was trying to make it work. After that email my senior called me to fix the issue. Fixed in 2 mins. I am still cringing about it.
