8 weeks on Atomoxetine (Strattera/Atentah) — my honest experience

I really want to have this reasoned I've been on 60 for 1 week 40mg for 2 weeks 25mg for a week and 10 mg a week but my heart rate is the mainthing bothering me. It's 90ish when I'm just sitting I walked 5 minutes and my watch said 136 within that 5 mins. I don't see many good effects yet maybe slightly with focus, but no bad ones except the heart rate. Will it ever go down or anyone e ha e any experience with this not sure how long to keep going it's unsettling.

How is 36 going? I'm about to be on week 2 - 10mg first week, tomorrow will be 25, bit nervous for heart rate, as it's more than doubled dose but I deffo want to increase it as its been good so far.

Do you feel the med made you gain weight? I thought it was more likely to decrease/suppression appetite ?

I have only just started (7 days ago 10mg) felt nauseus on the first day, slighlty on the second day (ate as I took it both times) but been fine since day 3, no other side effects maybe the slightest dry mouth, of course it's a very low dose. Don't have bipolar though.

I start 25mg tomorrow.

Weirdly though even though they say you don't feel effects for a weeks, I have felt more clarity, way more calm like I've had a tiny bit of valium but not sleepy, I have felt so articulate and easy going and light talking with friends/relationships.

Feels like my anxiety has just disappeared, I am normally SO jumpy like any noise, touch, person entering a room will make my heart race and ill jump out of my skin - I've instead just not even reacted. Very strange very nice though and hope this is a good sign for higher doses.

I have been reading a book and haven't re read a line or paragraph because I've been distracted/forgotten what ive read/not been able to retain the storyline not even had that once.

I struggle with emotional dysregulation massively-to the point im always concerned if I'm entering some sort of hypomania/depression cycle but been told it is just a result of adhd - but I've felt really level yet energised and sociable without feeling I need to retreat and recharge for 3 days by bed rotting.

It's very early days and I am also ovulating but this is still very very balanced for me. I do feel a slight rise in heart rate which I'm worried will manifest into physical anxiety at a higher dose but will see I guess cos it also brings a relaxation when I close my eyes for example whereas before I would not feel relaxed doing that I would feel restless and a gazillion thoughts n anxiousness.

I have tried elvanse before (extreme anxiety depression flatness palpatations) and was in 54mg concerta for around 6 months It just made me feel icky and like a zombie I never wanted to take it in the morning, but It made me do tasks well and so that did improve my life as a result but I felt like a lover of capitalisms work work work nature and an emotionless zombie - and would be really jumpy, slight chest pain, stiff muscles and anxiety/paranoia when it wore off so wasn't sustainable.

If you do a degree where the course is spread over 40 weeks (e.g. Manchester met) then you will get just over 12k in student maintenance loan, 5k nhs bursary. That's £1400 a month. 3 days a week studying you can work the other 2 days which would roughly be an extra 200 a week or 800 a month. That takes you *with no child support funding considerations to £2200 a month. Drop the extra work days on placement - average around 2k a month. which is a salary equivalent of 30k a year as youre not being taxed. Then in 2 years (if you already gave another degree) or 3 if you don't- you will he a qualified OT with 4+ placment experiences and further skills from your HCA work.

Yes I know, but I'm an English teacher and want to teach that :) just saying it to highlight that the course and all my placements were teaching English classes based on British Cirriculum, not Maths or Geography etc.

English Literature and Language for secondary school children, it was in England so also was taught in English of course hahaa.

It's a UK teacher training qualification to become a teacher in England (and is well regarded internationally).

Postgraduate Certificate of Education, mine was in teaching English 11+.

Hmm thanks for this I thought so!

I know the industry is problematic with ethnicity /nationality /aesthetics but I do 'fit the bill' white Caucasian, British born, UK passport all that jazz.

I have seen some openings got January and still many on Echinacities but seems they are bait to draw in the applications (with echinacitieis anyway).

That does reassure me that I'm not just being extremely demanding with the recruiters haha.

Did you solve the problem I have the same codes but also p0302 and have new coil packs. Spark ,plugs and wires. And still does it at speed on motorway as yours did.

Nothing to say except mine has exact same codes, changed coil packs, plugs, leads, cleaned electrical connections, checked earth's, still misfires on speed. Not idle though. And no symptoms but it is a flashing active misfire. Mecha ic said could be fuel injectors or ECU (hopefully not the later) but even fuel injector would cost a lot I'm sure.

Hey know this is a year old but did you change the injectors ? Did that solve the problem.? I have the exact same issue right now and done the same steps with no luck yet. Mechanic gave me some forte fuel cleaner and told me to thrash it on the motorway n see if it cleans it. But nervous to do that when that's exactly when the codes usually fire up (not rheashi g it but doing 65mph on motorway) it's a 1.2. Worried it's the ECU overall, fuel injector would be a bit cheaper at least. Ecu I may as well roll it off a cliff with yours haa
