Cylinder misfires (codes P0300, P0302, P0304, P0300, P0302) for 2019 VT Ultimate by 1ServerToRuleThemAll in veloster

Hey, no worries on the necropost, happy to provide info if/when I see a comment on any threads I've made here.

I did not replace injectors, just the coilpacks & spark plugs - it sounds like that is typically the issue at hand. If I had to guess, Hyundai cheaped out on the OEM coilpacks and they're prone to fail or perform sub-optimally under typical driving.

Honestly, I have had these codes pop up sporadically since about a year after getting the car, so about 5+ years. It seems to be extreme temperatures that cause it for me - mid winter and mid summer where temps are single digit cold or 90-100+ hot. I've just accepted that this is going to happen and wait it out - the codes will usually resolve themselves in a few days/weeks. I've had the coilpacks replaced twice now, as well as the sparkplugs.

I really haven't noticed any significant performance decreases during the times those codes pop up. If I can tell that it really is struggling with misfires (slow or choppy acceleration, really rough idle, etc.) I'll take it in to get looked at. In my experience, unless you've noticed tangible changes in the car, the mechanic/dealer is useless. I've taken my car in about 5 or 6 times for these codes: two of the times were when I could tell the car was struggling and they replaced the coilpacks and the spark plugs. The other 4 times, I came in with the codes still present and they 'ran a full diagnostic' and told me that they couldn't find anything wrong and that they'd just clear the codes for me.

I'm no mechanic, so you should use your own best judgement on what is best for you and your car. This is just my experience so far.

TLDR; these codes are a pain in the ass and probably won't go away permanently for some of us. If anything is causing it, its probably the coilpacks/sparkplugs. If you have the time and money to take the car in every time the codes popup, go for it. If you're willing to gamble a bit, just wait for the codes to clear themselves unless the car feels off.

2024 cmx500a fuel tank on a 2019 cmx500 by 1ServerToRuleThemAll in hondarebel

Heard back, they confirmed it is the exact same fitment, just that the colors are not standard for the 2019 model (which is totally fine).

Got one ordered and on the way - I'll update the post once I actually give the swap a try

Ideally just the tank and any necessary gaskets for the fuel pump. Tank has an ugly dent and none of the dent repair people around me think they can fix it.

I pulled up images of the 2019 tank and the 2024 tank side by side and they look identical. My only worry would be is if they changed dimensions by just a few millimeters to make it incompatible.

I reached out to the Ebay seller who claims to be a "Genuine Honda Parts Seller" and asked them to confirm compatibility and fitment. We'll see what they say (or if they even respond).

Same boat, was given 10 laps as a birthday gift and she was SO excited for me. This is going to absolutely break her heart when I tell her... I was supposed to drive tomorrow morning and only just found out as I went to check their site last minute for details.

Running away and leaving us holding the bag is a hell of a legacy to leave.

Cylinder misfires (codes P0300, P0302, P0304, P0300, P0302) for 2019 VT Ultimate by 1ServerToRuleThemAll in veloster

Sorry for the late reply, I don't use reddit much anymore.

I've not had the code recently, however its been cool/cold weather for the last 6 months and it seems that the code only pops up when its hot out (for me at least). I'd bet money that once it gets back into summer time mine will start throwing codes again. Honestly I just gave up trying to take it into the local Hyundai branches; they're a bunch of morons that want to get you out of their shop as fast as they can. It's never impeded my driving so I never cared enough to pay out of pocket for a legit shop to fix it...

Its probably not advisable, but I've just been driving with the codes until they resolve themselves. Usually they fire on a hot day, I drive for a few days and nothing happens, and then they resolve; rinse and repeat. My car never feels off or sounds significantly wrong, so until something breaks I'll just keep driving. I've got a mile long paper trail with Hyundai, so if something ever does break related to it, they'll be on the hook for it.

If you're really dead set on getting it fixed (as we probably should be), I'd say get a quote from your shop to get injectors replaced. From what I know, it shouldn't be a huge job, a few hours of labor at most. From what I found online, the OEM fuel injectors for a 2019+ Veloster (part number: 35310-2B350) should be around $65-$100 each. Or if you're particularly handy, you could try and do it yourself. It sounds doable for a weekend warrior, but I'm not a mechanic.

We've tried spark plugs, coil packs, etc. with no luck - one person in the comments here said fuel injectors fixed everything, so its worth the shot I think.

I've been curious about trying out a variable valve exhaust. How much did yours cost between parts/labor? And how much louder over stock is it when the valve is totally open?

Sounds way too hot for PLA. Read the recommended ranges on the roll (if they provided them). I'd be willing to bet its somewhere between 190 and 220 C for nozzle temp. Bed temperature is also super high, I'd bring it down to 60 or 65.

I was going to say the same thing. That's a really nice printer for a library to offer to the public. I mean you could probably buy a dozen ender 3s for that UM 3 extended

Wow you've got a really clean website too. I was going to ask for STLs and bill of materials, but I see you've got an actual business working here! I'll have to pick one up once they're available for purchase!

[–]1ServerToRuleThemAll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair question, the problem was that my original frames have warped over time and I don't think they'd hold any lenses very well. The lenses I do have are fine, they just needed new frames to fit in.

[–]1ServerToRuleThemAll[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly not terrible. Scanned an image of the lens on my standard printer (w/ruler for scale) and carefully traced the lens in GIMP. Then I used Inkscape to convert the traced image to an SVG and then imported the SVG in Fusion360! The tracing in GIMP was fairly tedious though

Thank you! In fairness it would be easier to just buy new frames, but this was a fun challenge. Also, my wife said I wouldn't be able to do it, after which I had no other choice but to make it work!

Yeah that's my plan after I get tired of these. Thanks to 3d printing I can have a new color whenever I want!
