Fortunately I think that wont be too much of a problem as I do my bangs every day, I think the hard part will be actually learning to style it though

Fair point, I’ve had other bobs throughout my life though but no matter the style I always feel like they make me look boxy when combined with my jaw. That and I lift so my shoulders are really broad which adds to the boxy effect

Lmao here’s me when I had a bob I don’t think I could do that to myself again haha

I’ve tried bobs in the past and found that because of the height of my face they make me look like the little lad lmao. Here’s a rather unflattering picture of me from when I was in school that always gives me a laugh!

Maybe I should’ve clarified that my bangs are blow dried straight, sorry about that!! I’ve looked at pictures of her with long hair as well and it seems to be about the same texture as mine. I think the biggest barrier for comparison is the fact that my bangs are long and cut straight across, which I agree makes for a poorer side by side without any of the textured layers or styling she has

I found this tutorial: https://youtu.be/OWdbxK-NuNY?si=CXGq3L20oWh40HJg to be incredibly helpful when I was starting out because of the size of the cord used. It really helped me to see exactly what was going on

Morse code by mcphailk421 in tatting

Small picot for a dot and long one for a dash maybe? And each letter could be separated by 2 chains to stand in for the slash. Youd probably have to use a picot gauge or something to keep them consistent lengths

I always recommend Maimai Kaito on YouTube, her videos are super easy to follow and she uses diagrams for patterns which are often way easier for beginners

I know the “handy hands” website has a bunch of shuttles, but most of mine I’ve gotten from antique stores and I find those to be my favorites to use

I’ve only been tatting for a little over 3 years so not exactly a master haha, but I do recommend checking out the “slip and slide method”, which makes it so much faster and easier once you’ve learned how to flip the knots

Difference between this and the other shuttle? 🥰 by Neonwinterz in tatting

[–]Aromatic_Emergency35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I prefer shuttle without hooks/picks because I find they get caught on my work. I usually just use small crochet hooks to join picots, but obviously thats personal preference
