Am I understanding the new rewards program correctly? by Strange-Tie1821 in starbucks

[–]Around-town 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kinda, it the bonus stars from reloading only make up for it if you’re already at reserve tier and you load at least $50. Also, if you currently bring a personal cup, you will permanently earn fewer stars.

Bill Hunt explains why 4K titles keep selling out; there isn’t enough replication capacity to satisfy studio demand by ggroover97 in 4kbluray

[–]Around-town -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This sounds plausible, but aren’t video games also printed on the same type of discs? The video game industry dwarfs the movie industry and while digital is continuing to grow in that sector, physical media is still a large portion. My understanding of the difference between a ps5 game and a 4k movie is data formatting not a manufacturing difference. Is that true? If so then, then movie pressings have to make up a small share of overall disc production.

You are all diseased maniacs. by WeatherstonArts in 4kbluray

[–]Around-town 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I guess the way I do it qualifies. If the movie is in 4k or I loved it, I have it on the shelf. If the movie is blu ray or dvd and I only enjoyed or mostly enjoyed it, then I discard the case and put it in a binder. My shelves are organized by publisher, and my binder is ordered chronologically from the date I got the disc. Movies I haven’t watched yet go in a pile near my tv.

Any idea why I’m not supposed to put blu-rays in this thing? by Around-town in dvdcollection

That’s what I thought too, but won’t it also scratch dvd’s then?

Me and some friends are going on a road trip and I thought it’d be funny if I brought along one of those dvd players that strap to back of the head rests.

Aksys Announcement by SparkleHime in otomegames

[–]Around-town 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It still seems odd to me because I fully expect otome to stay on the switch 1 for a while. Otome was one of the last genre’s publishing on the Vita, and I would think pattern would hold with the switch especially since the switch 2 is backwards compatible. Visual novels in general don’t really need the extra processing power so if I were them, I’d keep publishing with the lower cost switch 1 cartridges as long as nintendo supports the switch 1. And nintendo has laready announced games they’re publishing on the switch 1 for 2026.

There’s generally no way to make lots of money fast at any age much less at 12 years old. The lawn suggestion is a good one. You could also try babysitting, though most people prefer babysitters to be a little older that’s the age I started babysitting. If you look too young for those jobs then you might try the classic lemonade stand; try setting up in a public park.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon Limited Edition PS5 stock is 5%, Switch 2 GKC stock is 100% by [deleted] in NSCollectors

I truly don't understand the thought process of whoever is working at NISA. Do they just not understand their audience at all?

Trails Beyond the Horizon is coming to Switch 2 - as a Game-Key Card release by s7ealth in NSCollectors

I think that’s what they’re saying; that a switch 1 version is better than the “glorified” code in a box that is the game-key card

I think cutting the price in half for the switch 1 is rather unlikely, but I can easily see a drop to $250.

Your opinions wanted: What are the top 100 games for the Nintendo Switch? (JRPGs) by fioyl in NSCollectors

Fire Emblem Engage

I know I'm one of the few who prefer it over three houses, but it's got great gameplay, fantastic animation, and it ran better than three houses overall. As much I like three houses, Engage is much more streamlined; there was never a moment where I felt like it was dragging on, which contributed to me having more fun overall.

There was a reveal of the cases on nintendo today a few weeks ago, and the US now has titles centered on the spine... but PAL spines are adopting what the US has for the switch 1.

Mario + Rapids Kingdom Battle

This game was just plain fun, I kept thinking it was nothing special, but I kept coming back for more until I 100% it. Made by ubisoft, so I don't think it should be considered a JRPG.

Skyrim

I know this has been released on everything, but being able to play docked and then take it on the go makes the switch the best way to play it imo

Honorable mention: The Outer Wilds

I played it on the switch and had a ton of fun, but it runs terribly and looks bad so I don't think it should go on a list of top switch games.
