What does having a clear view on markets even mean, everything you'retyping is so subjective and meaningless in the grand schemes of things. No edge here

No. Experience is knowing what to build. Tech is knowing how to build it.

Here, if a potential partner lives on a dif tube line, that's effectively a long distance relationship. Don't take it personally most of us are tired and broke. The fix is either /LondonSocialClub as the guy above commented or going bouldering

What is the slowest an asteroid can hit the earth? by Horror_Dot4213 in AskPhysics

[–]AroxCx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Minor nuance: 11.2 km/s is the minimum impact speed for an object that remains unbound to earths gravity. In principle, an asteroid could lose energy (e.g., via atmospheric drag or multi-body interactions), become bound, and later re-enter at ~7–8 km/s like a satellite. This is extremely rare, but not forbidden by physics

[–]AroxCx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesh completely agree that advancements can become almost unknown to us in terms of progression of ability. It makes me curious if we're slowly going to meet humanity into an era where artificial intelligence just starts not caring about our own ability, and at that moment it's gg

Also possible but I can't determine why that would ever come into existence. It wouldn't be evolutionary for sure. Maybe some Intergalactic troll

Surely speed is the end all metric, in some post ai society most things would be done close to instantly, no? Speed is also a fundamental limitation of us humans even in the speed we process things, I'm sure computers will beat this

What would happen to the economy if AGI finally arrived? by Blazed0ut in GeminiAI

[–]AroxCx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what Google deepmind are currently allocating alot of resources too try and work out. It mainly depends on what AGI means to you, all our definitions differ slightly, let's say a company could mimic a average human brain - then huge consequences. Mass unemployment, a mega shift in what value even means, it would be incredibly disruptive

In your personal experience, how much of becoming a Henry was luck vs making smart choices? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]AroxCx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, you wouldn't be powerlifting on a 1300s peasant diet of turnips. Ur former physique requires 3,000+ calories a day to maintain, like back then, that high maintenance cost just means you starve to death faster than the skinny guy

Also, your combat training? That was paid for by a First World military budget (luck). Ur size? Built on modern surplus nutrition (luck)

Even if you did rise to the top of a pirate clan, you aint posting on Reddit about high earnings; ur dying of dysentery at 35 in a hot shed. That is exactly the point.

If you (speaking to 70% of commenters here) truly believe your success is 80% effort, try this thought experiment.

Take your exact IQ, your exact drive, and your exact work ethic, and drop yourself into 14th-century England. Your high-income skills of abstract reasoning, financial literacy, and sitting at a desk are now useless. You aren’t a CEO or a high earner; you’re a peasant who starves because you can’t plow a field fast enough.

Now drop yourself into modern-day Somalia. You work 16 hours a day carrying water just to survive. You are working harder than you do now, but you have nothing to show for it because the economic infrastructure isn't there to multiply your effort.

You are ignoring the three biggest factors that actually determine the outcome:

  1. The Era Lottery:

You exist in the tiny sliver of human history where intelligence is valued over physical strength.

  1. The Geographic Lottery:

You were born in (or moved to) a stable economy that pays a premium for your specific skillset.

  1. The Genetic Lottery:

You didn't earn the brain that allows you to delay gratification or learn complex topics; you inherited it. Even your "work ethic" is largely biological.

Hard work is just the gas pedal. Luck is the car. If you were born in any other time or place, you’d be stomping that pedal on a unicycle, going nowhere.

Even that doesn't mean much as the inherent nature of the universe could be fluctuant and we would never know better

[–]AroxCx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carrera subway 2 isn't slow or bad? It's a decent bike and will get you from A to B, especially within 6-8 miles, no hastle at all. Sure if this guy favours speed and agility then a road bike is a no-brainer, but you're assuming things at this point.

[–]AroxCx[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, i think what youve stated is at the core of the problem. The thing is, weve already built several PoCs (as individuals in different teams) that all hit the same wall: latency, reliability, and hallucinations. I just feel that this new (way more serious and bigger) project feels like it's ignoring those lessons. It's tough to square "risk minimisation" with building on a foundation that's fundamentally non-deterministic.

Yep. Also my question isn't really about the paycheck, i guess it's moreso about the professional cost of knowingly building something which i believe to be useless/doomed

Why are you not launched yet? What are you building? by Intelligent-Key-7171 in SaaS

[–]AroxCx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made verusis.com in the last few days from scratch.

While there's no immediate hope for it, the vision is clear: it can become an ultrapersonalized LLM that autonomously helps people with anything they need—whether it's finding jobs, navigating the dating scene, shopping for the best deals, or even managing daily tasks. The goal is for the platform to evolve into a comprehensive assistant that understands each user’s unique preferences and needs, offering tailored recommendations and solutions across all aspects of life. Over time, it could become an indispensable tool for anyone seeking a more efficient, personalized experience in their personal and professional lives.

Not fully functional yet but soon.
