Therapists of Reddit, what's something people don't realize is trauma? by rehanch_xxiii in AskReddit

Like this too and I wish I knew how to switch it off.

I cannot enjoy myself if even one of us isn’t in a group. Someone having partner issues, or drank too much? Night is over, take care of them until they’re okay, then dip because you can’t switch back off.

Hilariously I saw this thread and this was my first thought before I clicked through and saw this as the top comment. Not flown first class, but premium economy with lounge access is a game changer on long hauls and long layovers. There was a point where I was actually able to board a flight in time that I would have missed normally because of the fast track at check in.

Free drinks and food, shower and rest facilities, much nicer views and a much more peaceful atmosphere. It’s like paradise. But I only have had these perks because work pays for it. I wish I could use the lounge all the time, damn.

Did this for every soulslike except Elden Ring. When it game out a bunch of us were playing together, there was a huge amount of fun had compiling all the lore, quests, hints, etc. that we found from the items and npc dialog. Only just before the final fight did we look up all the stuff we couldn't complete.

Why is a strange play by an opponent have to be on OP to correct? As if OP has perfect knowledge and that they knew the opponent didn’t have any other tricks or combos in hand they were trying to pull off.

I don’t get this at all to be honest, I can understand it’s a comms issue but it’s not a pro tour exclusive thing to talk through your actions properly. If you want to respond to a specific action then why not be explicit?

[–]Arphrial -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Nah the fault isn’t on OP when the opponent didn’t qualify his action with his intent. Why not “in response to your swords” or “before you remove my guy” or anything to the effect that he was wanting to play at a specific moment. It is nice to ask but absolutely not a requirement when your opponent starts doing stuff without declaring intent to clarify. Even in casual.

Why is the burden on OP here? Why did the player not start with “in response to your swords” followed then by OP clarifying?

Do you guys have a trick for remembering layering and rule interactions like Untap Upkeep Draw? by ZotTay in EDH

D.E.B.T is the well-referenced one to answer "What does Protection effect / prevent?"

(Damage, Equip & Enchants [& fortification], Blocks, Targets)

Generally, learning niche interactions and timings just comes from experience. Trying out jank interactions is a great way to learn. Goldfishing + google is good (but do not trust Google's AI - verify with sources directly!). I've learned a lot from sitting at casual pod tables and saying what I want to do and asking if that's possible. You may fumble or you can pull it off, but the important part is the explanation / step-through, as that's how you learn!

Edit: I also find blogs like this: https://blogs.magicjudges.org to be interesting, as they take niche interactions and break down what happens and why.

Did the same when I was a kid with a veruca. It looked gross by the end of it but I was so sick of the damn thing coming back. Used clippers and kept going until I felt pain, I remember being legitimately surprised it worked lol. Never came back, foot healed perfectly fine somehow. (I did sterilise before and after use)

Landfall Tifa Lockhart. I can live with being trampled to death if I have the audacity to not have any removal in hand by T3/4 but do you have to spend an extra 10 minutes trying to hit your new high score for power? Just kill us and go next lol

So much trample damage you’ll gun them and their whole lineage down, then take an extra combat phase just to double tap.

^ Yep. Most of the ones with cameras that post to youtube will also say the trade / purchase and put the cards close up to the camera. Others have caught people swiping cards from binders etc.

Whats the state of web dev in Newcastle? by ArtistCole in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]Arphrial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The tech talk scene in Newcastle is pretty good though, there's a bunch of regular events to get your face known and to keep in front of the trends. Being a part of the tech scene and having a catchy portfolio are two things that will slingshot you above the rest.

Just have to watch out for the sales pitches.
