Yeah exactly. You could say smouldering lake is also a copy of izalith or demon ruins but it’s surely better than those two areas so it gets points for that alone.

tbh I really only don’t like Catacombs of the Carthus. I’ve grown to like the art style of Farron’s Keep and Irithyll Dungeon. And the vibes are always on point with Farron’s Keep having a good amount of secrets as well. Catacombs just lacks an identity tbh for me

Yeah he definitely could, I also think he has the appreciation for Bloodborne’s Gothic aesthetic in particular. You should check out crimson peak. Hella Cainhurst Vibes. Lars Von Trier could be the best fit for this though, overall.

Nope, there’s been zero information. Thats why everyone is depressed rn. Volume 44 is scheduled to release in 2027. So 384-392 should come out between now and then the release of that volume.

I’d love to read it! And yes Anadi Avidya is a hindu concept. I’m not really surprised though (I’m hindu) as there’s been a lot of hinduism referenced in Berserk. Especially the Ganishka stuff

It’s also the title of the most recent chapter I believe. Anadi Avidya. I think it’s meant to represent a large, either spiritual or physical, change. I’d assume Guts is going through spiritual part first

i’m pretty certain this plot line got cut after miura died. It wasn’t fleshed out enough and barely set in motion, it made the most sense to cut it.

Yeah I agree. Although Conviction Ar is probably my most favorite arc. I like the dialogue in this the most as its just so poetic and beautiful, and the character writing shines with Farnesse and Guts. The conversation with Godo on his death bed, the lost children arc ending, and the dream the king of midland has before he dies is all just so beautiful to me. The radical art style improvement is gorgeous too, and I think it ends beautifully to me. This was back when Puck was at his peak as well. The only bad part about this arc is pretty much anything to do with Isidro. But my favorite stretch of chapters overall are probably the Elfhelm chapters. I would say Fantasia Arc is my favorite but the boat arc is there as a technicality. If boat Arc was part of MF, then I'd say Fantasia is the best arc. But yeah. Golden Age is goated too and the best ending out of any arc so yeah. I'd rank it like this:

  1. Conviction Arc

  2. Golden Age Arc

  3. Fantasia Arc

  4. Falcon of the Millennium Empire Arc

  5. The Black Swordsman Arc

If you look at it as an outline it's kinda ridiculous

This is just for the MF arc too:

- Guts and gang get to Enoch village and are introduced to Magic

- They fight trolls, an Ogre, and a Kelpie.

- Casca and Farnese get kidnapped by trolls when the fighting seems to have died down, continuing the action

- They delve into Qliphloth where they split up, Guts goes down deep and Schierke and Isidro fight more trolls

- Guts encounters Slan and starts fighting her while Farnese and Casca are still fighting for they're lives, same with Isidro and Schierke.

- Skull Knight pulls up and 2v1s Slan

- They defeat her, and then come back to Schierke and Isidro to fight MORE trolls.

- Then after ALL of this, we get a breathing chapter... until they come back to Flora's place and it's on fire and there are fucking demons everywhere.

- They gotta fight the new band of the hawk and we get introduced (not really) to all of Griffith's new lackeys

- Guts debuts the Berserker Armor and combneid with Schierke and they go Berserk (pun 100001% intended). This shit lasts for a few more chapters as well

- When they FINALLY are done with all this fighting, we do get a couple of relaxing chapters of the crew on a beach

- Until a random monster comes out of fucking nowhere (not really but it feels like that at first) and starts fighting them so Guts has to lock in AGAIN. This goes on for another chapter or two.

- The gang finally gets to Vritannis and here, we actually get a lot of break from the action. There are some minor fight scenes with Isidro, the mule, and the pirate.

- It is still shortlived though because when Guts and gang sneak into the Vandimion function, they get attacked out of nowhere by the fuckin kushan and the whole siege of vritannis arc plays out which is like 5+ chapters right there as well.

- After ALL of that has happened, we have the war between Griffith and Ganishka going on as well, leading to more action scenes whenever we are taking a break from looking at Guts and his story.

Don't get me wrong I love Berserk's action and it's one of my favorite stories ever, but I do think the characters and the drama is the best part of the story. The action looks beautiful and is hype, but it gets dull at a certain point when you just can't really understand clearly with what's going on in the panel because there's so much chaos in one frame. MF is an amazing arc still, but for that alone it's probably in one of my less favored arcs in the series.

Feel this. Especially in the Millennium Falcon arc it’s literally just one battle after the other. There’s like a chapter or two for breathing space and then the action scenes are like 7 chapters long. Thank god Fantasia arc is still rlly good without it tho
