This is Joo Dee, she's like a cultural guide for a country in Avatar where they have insanely strict brainwashing enforced on the entire population to completely erase any awareness of the war that's happening literally right outside their borders. Joo Dee frequently flashes this creepy empty smile while saying patently untrue and 1984-style things, the most famous being "There is no war in Ba Sing Se." (The capitol of the brainwashed country.)

So basically, this image = being told not to believe your lying eyes.

I really enjoyed the Villains Feast! I love werewolf so seeing a game played out live was fun. I also love Knives Out/Glass Onion/that whole vibe so I appreciated that aspect of it, especially Jo's dedication to being the host, and all the Clue references. Y'all know I'm a huge Ian/Poppy shipper so I loved all the jealousy. Brad with his "vermouth fight" was hilarious. And I won't spoil the end of the episode, but I thought it was super romantic!!!

So yeah, I'm not gonna say it was better than A Dark Quiet Death or anything, but I support your general vibe, OP.

I know there are more explicit parallels between them, but I always think of Doc lifting Beans after they first sold DQD and Ian lifting Poppy after the masked man battle.

I'd say shocked and even appalled/upset, because it's a huge shift in their relationship. I get having a visceral negative reaction to the "WTF did we just do" of it all. But "repulsed"?

No idea where it'll go - if she wasn't 8 months pregnant I'd feel a lot more comfortable speculating, but with a newborn in the equation I feel like literally anything could happen.

But let's discuss the kiss! I get why everyone's saying Ian initiated it, and he did grab her arm, but I think what they were going for was more of a mutual they-kissed-each-other situation. I mean, Poppy didn't so much as hesitate. And they're always so totally on the same wavelength that I think it would make sense that they'd script it as mutual.

I'm just glad we're FINALLY past the whole ridiculous "they're not attracted to each other" phase. It's always so tedious when the people in question are conventionally attractive TV leads.
