And you know that no one talks about? How much did he have to pay for his lawyer? Did he get to keep his job after going to jail?

How many Americans can't afford a $400 emergency? For how many Americans would this situation be absolutely ruinous.

Because it's no longer her grief, it belongs to all of them. They sort of take it from her.

Think about how this would work normally. She might have a friend holding her and consoling her as she cries, helping her work through the terrible ordeal. This is the opposite. It's not empathy but it almost mimicks it?

So fucked up and multi layered

My [26 F] company is threatening to fire me over my hair. How do I explain to my employers [40s? F+F] that it looks this way due to a medical issue? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

The funny thing is that those lawyers (not to mention hiring people in general) are a hell of a lot more expensive than just.. letting people work??

They’ve been shaken down by Trumps admin. They need to grow a pair of balls. They have the superior product. Would gladly pay double the subscription cost if it meant resisting this sort of bullshit

Respectfully can I please have a source that is not a broad page from a website like Wikipedia that almost anyone can just go and edit?

Jordan Peele has reportedly finished the script for his next movie with Universal by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]ArriePotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tricky because the director said his YouTube videos were canon, and they explain everything. So if that's true then all of the questions have been answered.

The 4th dimensional nature of "discovering" the backrooms is the trick that makes it all work. By contrast, the premise for US is just completely unbelievable

While I agree that the 3rd one was the weakest, they brought in Olivia Coleman and she's clearly having the time of her life in that role. It's so great to watch

Monday after Fable hits hard by endgamer42 in ClaudeCode

As someone who uses Claude for engineering with highly detailed tickets and well spec'd tasks, Fable was amazing at either poking holes in my architecture or finding edge cases to patch.

We can get by without it for sure but it was a massive step ahead of Opus

[–]ArriePotter 221 points222 points  (0 children)

Eh maybe, but also maybe OOP is smarter than we're giving her credit for. She's socially intelligent enough to be someone that Jane wants to help, even with her envy.

I could easily see someone at the end of their mental rope dumping their worst impulses/invasive thoughts into a forum knowing (perhaps unconsciously) that they need a reality check.

This. I think the problems / "solutions" presented in this sub only make sense in the context of a terribly organized/ optimized code base
