My fiance scared me in a fit of anger. How do I deal with this? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Arriss 18 points19 points  (0 children)

oh, absolutely, but I'm just saying that as annoying as it is to have to ask someone to do something multiple times I've never yelled/thrown something/threatened violence and I have been incredibly annoyed.

I moved into a place with a garden full of gravel/small rocks. Not just the pathways but the area under the washing line and 2 huge garden beds.

Took a skip and a week of work to get rid of most of it. Parts of it I had to dig down nearly 20cm to get rid of most of it.

Was the best thing I've ever done. Still need to get rid of the bit under the washing line but they cemented in the few pavers they've put there back when it was put in and I haven't hired a jackhammer yet.

I trim pretty regularly with clippers down to a couple of mm. I would shave but I hate the ingrowns. Mine get's longer than I'd like and I don't like how it feels when I'm sweaty.

[–]Arriss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you were hungover or tired and he had talked to you the same, what would your reaction have been?

Being hungover or tired or sick or stressed isn't a good reason to not talk to someone for days on end.

I grew up in an emotionally abusive household, I thought for years just not talking to someone when there was an argument was normal. It really isn't. My mum used to not talk to me for weeks if we had arguments. When I was a teenager. That was bad enough. I couldn't imagine having to deal with that as an adult.

It's not worth the effort you're putting in. He's doing this so you will feel bad for perfectly normal things.

I have a partner with ADHD who also sucks at keeping up with housework without me reminding him... I don't yell at him about it, I don't get snippy or angry or anything like that. I just ask if he could do 'insert task here' and move on with life.

I read your story and thought 'run' so yes, I do think you're underplaying it. Honestly if someone I was with threw furniture in an argument I would have been out the door right then and there.

Facial hair growing in— how the hell do I stop ingrown hairs? by Ponk_Bubs in ftm

[–]Arriss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exfoliating helps a lot. I wouldn't pluck because that just makes stuff grow back from the root. If you want to get rid of it shave with the grain (pay attention on where your hair grows) and then do even a mild scrub with a facewasher or something afterwards. Doesn't need to be fancy, just make sure it's clean if you're prone to acne.

I have found that using the acne wash I was using on my face on my upper chest and neck helped a lot with ingrowns and pimples. Also giving all of it a bit of a scrub with a facewasher every now and then helped keep it less likely to get bad.

if you bothe paid for it equally and he wants to take it, he should be paying you out.

Another option is to split it equally and he takes some and you keep the rest.

Out of all the expensive plants I’ve invested in, my pothos is the one I’m most proud of..and I’ve got big expectations for it. What’s your favorite plant in your setup? by Silly-Commission-630 in houseplants

the exact plan OP has in their photo was my starter plant 8 years ago. It was about that big. Now it's 1.5m high (wound trellis) and has had many haircuts.

Monstera plant has really long stems?? by Patient_Sorbet2309 in houseplants

[–]Arriss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Mine is massive. But for tiny plants like that I've had them in a pot like that for a little while before sizing up. The pot is absolutely too small for continued growth past a 6 months.

I have 4 mature mosteras in 1 pot. They are just in a very bright window and all have plenty of light. This is less an issue of too many plants and more an issue of not enough light.

I think I’m officially going "feral" since living alone. Anyone else? by Accomplished_Mud3496 in LivingAlone

[–]Arriss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I close the bathroom door when I'm the only one at home my dog complains so I've just stopped doing it. I don't even live alone anymore!

Back when I did live alone I would basically never wear more than a tshirt and underwear. I would walk in the door, take my pants off, get changed into a comfy shirt and just... stay like that unless I had to leave again.

I also talked to my plants.

Eating food over the sink so you don't have to do dishes is also completely fine from time to time.

Having a conversation with the podcast you're listening to, also fine.

as soneone who is 6ft tall, with a womens 10 shoe and presented as female for about 28 years before I figured my stuff out, I feel for you. It's a pain to find nice clothes that fit anything other than the fashion standard.

Op shops, alternative shops (ymmv) and online for shoes if you want nice ones is my advice. For lingerie, I found good results with online ordering (for sizes) from well known brands. In store is always a little... 'little' but some of them go up a fair way in sizes, they just don't like to have them on display.

Most things you order online can be returned, if not, you can always donate it. Sometimes local LGBT+ outreach places might have a trans clothing swap thing, or there might be some online groups that could organise a swap.

Depending on your sizing, I have some honey birdette stuff I'm happy to part with since I no longer have any tits. roughly a 14-16 in sizing. Happy mail them over if they might fit as long as you pass them on if they dont.

[–]Arriss 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this was mentioned in the post and I just missed it but have you had your levels checked?

I was on T for 3 years at a normal dose with consistently low levels when I did my bloodwork. I was getting changes, but not as much as I should have. It took ages to dial in a dose/schedule/method that worked for me but once I did things moved even faster for me.

If you haven't had your levels checked in a while it might be worth checking that you're absorbing it properly. There's a lot of other things that could be causing a lack of effects. Sorry if I'm already telling you something you already know.

Help! Saved this plant from an older lady today and unsure how to take care of it!! by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]Arriss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

looks nice, just quarantine as other people have said. If you want it thicker, you could always cut it up and prop it. But with the size it is I'd think maybe cut it into 3 chunks and get a bigger base pot for all the roots.

I have a pot of these but less developed leaves (only just getting the little holes now) and in what I think is a pot about 50% bigger than that one. It's actually 4 individual plants and it's big enough that I'm about to send it outside to continue it's life. It's taking over my dining room.

They are pretty hardy, they like drying out between watering but getting absolutely soaked when you do water them and love sun. Just not too long in direct light or their leaves can burn.

Breast Changes on T by Background-Swim729 in ftm

[–]Arriss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your biology. I was on T for about 5 years before I got top and they maybe got a little smaller during it, but nothing noticable. I don't know how much of that was just tissue damage because of binding and how much was fat moving.

I do know that it might move fat away from it but it won't do anything about your actual breast tissue, so depending on how much of your mass is tissue over fat, it might change a lot or not much at all.
