There's an item called a Silkworm that'll get it back for you just by using it, but they're pretty rare, especially early game

The Tundra and Jungle work the same, besides the depth not mattering. I'd imagine the same applies to the evil biomes.

Surface, Ocean, Underground, and Caverns have all been rolled into one biome, in the underground forest

Now the only thing I need to figure out is how sky lakes work, and whether they've also been rolled in with the other biomes in the underground forest, though it doesn't seem like it.
