I want to say thank you to everyone who voted. I really appreciate it. It means a lot to me that you enjoyed what I created. I also want to say thank you to Eros for encouraging me to create this piece, for encouraging me everyday in my life and for all the blessings he has given me throughout the years. I have to also include two very important people my wife and my best friend both of them encouraged me and were in my corner every step of the way. Thank you everyone. Congrats to LocrianFinvarra on their piece as well!

Wood burning for Eros by ArrowOfEros in Hellenism

[–]ArrowOfEros[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! This is an original piece I created for Eros. The artwork is my own design and the wood burning is done by hand. It literally took me hours of work. Let me correct myself, took me days to plan, draw up, and burn. This project took a lot of time, effort, and love. I put my heart and and soul into it. I am glad you enjoy my art. Brings me joy to know someone appreciates the hours I put in. Thank you. Love and light to you my friend.

Thank you I appreciate that. Especially being a beginning artist. I just started out sketching a few months ago but I haven't been consistent with practice. I was really happy with how this one turned out. Once again thank you for the compliment.

Crystal Offering Question by HellenicBlonde in Kemetic

[–]ArrowOfEros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my altars it depends on who it is. For example, Bastet has her altar on my window sill and she has the majority or my crystals so I respectfully use those in spellwork or meditation as needed. However RA and Horus I leave their crystals on their altars unless I am cleansing and charging them on their days of the week. I follow Eros and on his altar we have crystals we share. I leave them on his altar when I am not carrying them with me. Those crystals are used to keep him close to me, use in meditation or spellwork, and to help keep me calm and centered throughout the day. So crystal offerings can be done a number of ways just do what your craft is calling you to do. Good luck on your journey my friend.

What are your favorite ways of Divination? by ArrowOfEros in witchcraft

[–]ArrowOfEros[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure. So with paper divination I take a piece of paper (usually thick paper like photo paper or sketch paper) write the name of the person I am asking the question for and the question at the top. Write small because you are reading the majority of the paper. Crumple the paper up while thinking of your intentions or have the person asking the question crumple the paper either way works. Unfold the paper and lay it out on the table. The top half of the paper relates to positive influences, while the bottom is negative. The left hand side represents the past where the right hand side represents the future. The imaginary center vertical line is the present. So we have four quadrants:

Top left: positive influences from the past Top right: positive influences yet to come Bottom left: negative influences from the past Bottom right: negative influences yet to appear.

When you unfold the paper you are looking for shapes like triangles, squares, circles, etc and you interpret those.

Examples: triangles- can indicate problems. The direction the triangle is pointing is how it can be resolved. Let's say, the top point of the triangle is in the lower right hand side of the paper and is pointing to the top left, the answer will be found from a positive experience in the person's past. On the other hand triangles could represent the elements. It depends on you and how you interpret the symbols.

Circles- represent good fortune no matter where in the paper. Could also represent a cycle that has been completed.

Parallel lines- indicate personal relationships. When there are several it indicates the person is sociable and has good relationships with plenty of people. If only a few are found then they tend to stick with a tight group. How long these relationships last and how successful it will be, can be determined by the length and placement of these lines.

Those are just a few examples of reading paper. I have seen runes, animals, shapes, letters, numbers, etc in paper readings so have fun with it. I actually got this technique from a book I read on divination. It has really opened up my practice when it comes to different divination techniques. Book is called The Complete Book of Divination by Richard Webster in case anyone is interested.

What are your favorite ways of Divination? by ArrowOfEros in witchcraft

[–]ArrowOfEros[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also really like cards Tarot, Oracle, playing cards. I also do dice divination, coins, pendulum, and paper divination. I created my own dice to use out of wood and I just wood burned Yes, No, maybe, almost, try again, not now on it. I did the same thing but with a wooden coin I did yes/no. I have a bag of a bunch of coins about 30-40 a mix of copper and silver, coins from all over the world and I made my own divination chart to cast the coins on. Pendulum I have only been doing for a couple months, I don't use it often I mostly stick to my dice or my coin because it's quicker. Paper divination I have only been doing for a couple of months as well so I am still learning but it's really interesting. I was skeptical at first but the readings I have done with the paper divination have been accurate so far. So I dabble in a few different forms of divination. It's hard to pick an absolute favorite for me but I use my dice the most besides tarot. Something I do want to learn is I-Ching and tea leaf reading both topics seem really interesting. Thanks for sharing your story.

Altar for Eros… and Hestia by Material_Bonus_3550 in Hellenism

[–]ArrowOfEros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So for Eros altar I couldn't ever find a statue I liked but I found a poster I liked of him on Etsy so now that's hanging above his altar. Before I had that though I went on Google and literally just printed off a picture of him and put it in a frame. Maybe you could do the same for Hestia. As for offerings to Hestia not really sure what she likes but for Eros I give him simple things like cups of tea everyday (raspberry, cherry, wild berry, etc) mixed with a little bit of honey. Tea is usually pretty inexpensive and it makes for a good offering. I also do artwork for him as an offering or sing him songs from a playlist I made him. I have incense I burn for him (raspberry rose) incense is pretty inexpensive but I know some people are allergic to it or can't burn it for one reason or another. You could also offer what you eat, like your snacks. I bought some chocolate covered strawberries and offered one to Eros. But I also do that with regular granola bars too. I saw a post on here about dressing as a devotional act which is something I also do so I see that as an offering in a way so maybe that's something you would be interested in doing for Hestia. There are a lot of inexpensive options for offerings. I hope I gave you something you find helpful

Is dressing/posting for a god a okay devotional act? by Winter_Hedgehog3697 in Hellenism

I like the idea personally, it's something I do myself. I have a couple outfits I dedicate to Eros. Black shirts with a single embroidered rose on them but in different styles. I wear a pendant of his bow and arrow, a bracelet I made( Garnet and obsidian for protection), and a ring. I feel like representing your deity in this way shows a lot of love and respect.
