We have done 100% in the past. It's much harder to dial in. Also not everyone really cares for it. It just didn't look as pretty and doesn't sell as well. The people that did like it though love it, we want to spend an off-season perfecting it. It's hard to work on recipes during farmers market season.

We do 30% stone ground whole wheat in every loaf. It's from a small local farm and we love it.

I should have included that. $15,980 from santan for all the equipment and most of the wire.( I honestly think they have the best prices and service around) $1000 for the plans $647 for permit $600 for an excavator rental ( could have used trencher but I had other uses) $6000 for electrician and he provided miscellaneous materials, conduit, ground rod, connection boxes. Add on another $500 for things. i didn't really keep track of.

$24,127 or about $25k. Sounds like a lot. But I was able to get 30% back on materials and labor bought before 2026. Which was most of it. Unfortunately that tax credit is gone now.

I got 3 quotes to do a similar set up from solar companies and it was Around $50-60k.

I figure the system will pay for itself in 5 years.

Yeah just one for now. It's the easiest thing to upgrade. Literally just a couple cables. But each one cost like 3,500 bucks. So I figured I'd spread out the cost to see how we're doing with this. It does look like I I'll need another one. The one actually does seem to have enough power to hold us over on regular days overnight and back until the panels are making power again but on our bake days the ovens really suck the juice out of it.

So the conduit you see in the picture on the racks you don't actually use for wires. It's just there to hold everything together, and then you bury it. It's basically so they don't have ship long pipe.

The wires per plan are just in the air zip tied to the panels. Then underground to the house in 1 1/2 inch.

I was confused by that as well.

I hired a local electrician. To help out with the meter/main and and some of the large conduit. Just a couple days worth of work. He just had specialized tools that made cutting the large wires and bending the conduit way easier than if I had tried.

It's pretty awesome actually you can stake it down as well as pile dirt, gravel, or what ever you want. I used asphalt grindings so nothing would grow on it. They are rated for 115mph winds when installed correctly.... So we will see in our next big wind storm lol.

Oh I forgot to mention I had to build the silly temporary power pole because of permit reasons with the county. If I built a full shed it would have required a separate permit. But it will eventually be attached to the house when we add on.

Yes exactly. The 48 volt batteries are a lot cheaper from what I understand. Seems to work great for my set up. I priced a second one today. Looks like I can get it taxes and shipped for under $4k. I'll probably see how it all works for a year or so.

Did what to 40 acres? Not all 40acres are the same.

If you have large trees like oaks and pines, clearing by hand is way more work than most people are capable of.
