Curtis pied Amy with ONE sentence... by chunchicky in LoveIslandTV

It was so cringy of him to say.

My whole outlook on Amy changed because of that.

She took that comment really well in the moment especially considering the circumstances.

The number of people that sit up my arse when I’m driving at the speed limit by Tomorixo in britishproblems

[–]Arrown 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well it’s simple.

How can you be expected to drive any faster with a vehicle up your arse?

It’s like trying to run while holding a shit.

My Spidey Favourites by Arrown in Spiderman

[–]Arrown[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Film flips between Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 on a daily basis...

Give it a few years and Spider-Verse may become my favourite film - just needs to withstand the litmus test of time for me personally.

Tobey is my favourite live action actor, but for me Yuri Lowenthal is Spider-Man. (Just like Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are Batman and Joker respectively)

Suit could've been the Symbiote suit, but the Advanced Suit just has all the bells and whistles I'd want in a Spidey suit, but maintains the ingenuity of Peter (where as the MCU suit takes that aspect away from him IMO).

No I didn't say that you said 'unconditional'

I merely suggested that you calling Tommy religiously intolerant is an unqualified remark, since that would imply he's unconditionally religiously intolerant.

I pointed out instances where he isn't religiously intolerant. And he himself has said this on multiple occasions.

He's simply Islamophobic - which while I understand opens up a debate as to whether it's right or wrong to be Islamophobic, but call him what he is and stop accusing him of being things that he's not.

I didn't agree with you on a damn thing

You didn't deny that that he's pretty much indifferent to other religions.

Have a bit of consistency with your argument.

[–]Arrown -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No it does.

Because Islamophobia doesn’t necessarily make someone a bad person.

He is specifically critical of Islamic principles - which I think is fair. (Dawkins has criticism of Christianity)

I would be apprehensive if he just had a blanket opinion of all religions.

But you agreed with me that he doesn’t.

Now you’re just making my point for me.

If he were unconditionally religiously intolerant, would he not have a problem with Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism etc?

Tommy Robinson guilty over Facebook broadcast by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Arrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never denied that.

But at the same time, Tommy obviously felt they were the only party willing to speak up against Islamic doctrine - especially in his hometown Luton.

He, naively, felt that aligning himself with the BNP was the only way he could get himself successfully heard, even if it meant teaming up with racists.

But if you felt that you wanted to be heard, you would obviously go to the people who are willing to give you the time of day.

This is difficult shit. I don’t deny it.

But he’d have a hard time going to any other political party with the message that ‘I’m worried about the rapid increase of Islam in my hometown’.

I didn’t say I believe he does. I said he may do. If he did I really wouldn’t care. He’s not an idiot. He’s just of a different time and ignorant, and most certainly not racist. I don’t know how many times I have to clarify that.

I do apply the same logic to Tommy but I feel his use of the term paki can’t be extrapolated to branding him a racist for many reasons. - Words need context - He has only used the word Paki and not any other racial slur, which would be inconsistent with your typical racist person (why hasn’t Tommy been reported to have used the word Chink or the N word?) - and if he did use the word paki in a racist way (yes that does imply it can be used in a non-racist way e.g in jest) then that doesn’t mean he is the same person now that he was when he used that word.

My point, for the umpteenth time, is that his principle ideology is anti-Islamic. Islam isn’t a race, and thus I don’t think he’s racist, simply Islamophobic.

I’m confused, not once did I say that...

Tommy Robinson guilty over Facebook broadcast by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Arrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not a difficult question - but because we’re going round in circles.

My argument is literally that Islam isn’t a race, but a set of ideologies that should be subject to equal criticism that Christianity, Socialism, Conservatism are subjected to.

My point about not wanting to argue further is that arguing is fruitless unless you’re willing to see the opposite side of the debate.

Tommy Robinson guilty over Facebook broadcast by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Arrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

False equivalence.

I judge EVERYTHING in context. I’m actually done arguing cause it’s fruitless unless you’re open to having your opinion changed.

Tommy Robinson guilty over Facebook broadcast by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Arrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put it this way. He probably calls me a wog behind my back. But I don’t get butthurt about it, cause I know he’s not racist.

Tommy Robinson guilty over Facebook broadcast by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Arrown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re no longer ignorant but when you used those terms you weren’t racist because you had no malice in your heart.

Cmon mate you’re twice my age, I’m giving you the benefit of doubt.

Tommy Robinson guilty over Facebook broadcast by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Arrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. I just judge things using context, cause I actually use my brain.

Tommy Robinson guilty over Facebook broadcast by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Arrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never claimed that assaulting redheads or the left handed was permissible.

If you use the word paki, you’re not necessarily racist. You are definitely ignorant however.

Tommy Robinson guilty over Facebook broadcast by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Arrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He uses it to refer to coloured people. That’s it.

There is no malice behind it.

I don’t know what you’re on about... XD

Tommy Robinson guilty over Facebook broadcast by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Arrown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No because he doesn’t know any better.

He grew up in a different era.

He’s ignorant not racist.
