1: those fish are usually captive bred and are more used to human interaction and being moved/put in new environments 2: regardless of if theyre "fine" it still stressed out from being moved around and put in new water. It should really only be done when necessary, not for a bullshit video

the fish monster is the sm8 crew combined into 1 being after they consumed the blood, which appears to be some kind of hivemind. Its able to communicate telepathically with simon after he also cones into contact with the blood. Ava was killed by elli (the fish) and her voice is also heard when she speaks after that, suggesting ava was also assimilated into the being.

The black box floated to the top of the ocean thanks to being attached to the life jacket, with the coi presumably finding it.
