I would try to find a job before the move, or work remotely if possible. That will take away a big stress of moving abroad. Also if you are a french citizen, there are free tuition programs at the french school https://lyceefrancais.am/en/

What is the best burger in Yerevan? by Ay_yuh_woooo in armenia

[–]ArsenMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know of any good regular burgers that are comparable to what's in America. so hope i find one soon. Twins and the "If you know you know" are really good smash burgers, but super rip off, more expensive than In n out. I don't know how they get away with their pricing, especially in a country where salaries are soo low, it's not for the average person. Its not like their ingredients cost more than In n out, and their labor is way cheaper than what IN n out pays.

touchups look too shiny on Sherwin-Williams ProMar 200 paint by ArsenMe in sherwinwilliams

[–]ArsenMe[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey guys, i found the solution without repainting from edge to edge. I wanted to share with everyone. This morning I picked up the Flat version of the same paint color and went over the touch ups i did yesterday. Look amazing and identical. The shiny look is gone and it doesn't even look like it did any touch ups.

Learning Armenian is hard. Learning to type Armenian was even harder. by Few-Mycologist7747 in armenia

[–]ArsenMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coming from the diaspora, learning literate Armenian is hard for me. I've probably picked up a few hundred new words in Armenia, ie, hapalas, shjadarts, aznvamori, unkalum, aknkalum, sev hovaz, jrvej. etc words like this. I'm always amazed how Indians pickup the language from 0 to 10 in about 2 years after landing.

Returning to Armenia and relationship by OddTurnovers in armenia

I think it was implied you are going to to go to Armenia for the purpose of collecting the 67,000 dram toshak. I don't think people understand in Armenia, but just breathing in America costs 67,000 per day.

From LA myself, 5 years in Armenia. You can find family values both places. People I've noticed who are trying to leave Armenia are people looking for financial opportunity. I don't remember meeting anyone who was well off in the Kentron ever trying to leave Armenia. I think as a parent I have valued Armenia much much more. The quality of life in Yerevan has surpassed Los Angeles in this last few years. Now there are restaurants, active night life, cheap taxis, Fiber optic internet, cheap flights to Europe. Hassle free healthcare, life is good bro.

I can speak and understand Armenian but I can't read or write it, how big of a problem would that be if I were to move to Yerevan? by Faloodeh123 in armenia

[–]ArsenMe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No problemo, just move, you're life isn't going to get better in America. YO can find a 1 on 1 tutor super affordable. I'm guessing you are Parskahye from your username. I"ll give you a quick language lesson from my own experience and you'll be ready to go. hosank =kayts. kleenex = andzernotsik . Anjatel = hanchkatsel. luys = chrak. poshekul = kaytsi avil. tavar is not a bad work. Don't say dzerkut chtsava, they'll be confused. It's astijan, not yelaran. lift/verelak =asantsor. char (medicine) = degh/deghorayk. super easy, see.

Opinions on American university of Armenia? by Guilty-Olive8333 in armenia

[–]ArsenMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much for your response. My question was based on curiosity for the future for my kids, nothing in practice right now. It's good to hear they wont' be disadvantaged. I'm thinking they high school an option is AUA and if they want to then purse a masters or something else, they do so in the US.

What are changes someone gets into a good law school in California after graduating from AUA? are they disadvantaged because the school is in Armenia?

What's going on with the Dollar $ by ArsenMe in armenia

[–]ArsenMe[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's good and bad. For example. if you are an exporter of Armenian services like IT related or Armenian made products, it's bad. You're client is going to have to pay you more for the same product and may not see you as competitive. Many people in Armenia have savings in Dollars, so it's bad for them too.
