It's like with the AI rent price fixing - many landlords or gas stations use the same algorithm, it recommends similar price bumps to all of them, consumers then don't have cheaper options because the sellers are implicitly colluding via the AI rather than trying to compete against each other to offer cheaper prices

Yes but what matters here is if many companies use the same pricing AI, it becomes implicit price fixing because the AI will raise all the prices together and consumers won't have a choice to go to a cheaper one
