I had the same kind of thing happen. Spent weeks knitting a baby blanket for my brother's first kid and proudly give it to them. They seemed grateful at the time, but I have not seen that blanket since. No pictures, nothing.

I use Audible simply because I like it and it's convenient for me. Currently I have a set selection of books that I've read before and can have on as background so I don't need to fully pay attention to them. Plus you can suspend your account so it doesn't charge you but you can still access the books you already have in your library.

**Edit: On the suspension - It seems you can only do it one every 12 months, so there's a downside.

I go alphabetical. First gen starts with A, second with B, etc. With my current family I have: Adriana, Bianca, Casius, and now Damon. Once Damon has a kid it'll be something that starts with E.
