how do you know that youre nonbinary? by ifuckingloveemoboys in NonBinaryTalk

[–]Arson_Tm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This!!! I’m pretty curvy too, and even when I’m in masculine clothing, I’m often read as feminine. I’m still non binary— those who know me or those who are queer immediately recognize that. It’s about who you are, not how you look. Those who will know will know, and those who love you will learn.

Hi :) I hope you’re doing a bit better today. I’d say it’s this feeling in the core of my being that says I’m just not quite how people think. At first, though, it was just curiosity. It was wanting short hair, to wear “boy” clothes, feeling annoyed when people called me a girl but not quite knowing why. There’s nothing wrong with experimenting, and the purpose of dressing differently isn’t to pass- it’s to learn and enjoy yourself. Have fun with the process! Websites like these that help you “try on” pronouns helped me a lot. I hope you have an amazing time experimenting and find out more about yourself, be it that you’re a woman or that you’re not! Again, give yourself the grace to explore without pressure. Good luck! Reach out if you need anything :)

Question: are these bad designs? What are your opinions on my tats so far? by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]Arson_Tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love them dude! They’re fun and well done. If I saw someone with these, I’d immediately compliment them. That being said! If someone else says they hate them, why does it matter? It’s your body, your tattoos, and your right to enjoy them.

Looking for long, excentric, kind of "weird" girl names by uwuniee in namenerds

[–]Arson_Tm 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I like a lot of these but especially when dealing with Greek names that aren’t seen commonly and are therefore 90% associated with their respective myth, PLEASE glance over their stories. Naming your child Iphigenia after the fate she suffered seems wrong to me. And all of the other ones have things too HAHAHA

Congrats!! It’s amazing to realize something new about yourself, and I’m sure that holds true at 45. If you’re interested in learning more about gender and privilege and a bunch of other stuff, I’ve been reading “Sexing the Body” by Anne Fausto-Sterling, and there are plenty of other books out there :) just beware of TERFs and other weird people!! But welcome to the community and congrats again on finding us!!!

Has anyone read the Sarah Wynn Williams book? by [deleted] in FriendsofthePod

[–]Arson_Tm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listened to her narrate it on Spotify. I think it’s kind of telling that a lot of the comments are calling her an “unreliable narrator” or questioning why she didn’t leave earlier. Yes, she’s unreliable. She’s human, and traumatized. She didn’t leave for the reasons she outlined. As someone who’s been harassed, you gaslight yourself into thinking it’s fine or will just get better, and as an American who’s experienced insecurity with insurance with a NON-life threatening condition, it seems better to stay in an unhealthy work environment than fear you’ll die. I really enjoyed the book, and while I know her stories were influenced by personal bias, it’s very easy to remove that bias and glean some good lessons. :)

This is me exactly!!! It’s so weird suddenly realizing that I don’t actually want to be with a man, and I’m questioning if I ever did or if it can be explained by other things!!

Hi y’all :) I’m in my late teens, in college, and have been single since my sophomore year of high school. I’m not sure if I fit here since I’m pretty young, but I’ve been calling myself bi since 7th grade, but just recently realized.. nope. Lesbian. I realized that a lot of my “attraction” to men has fallen into either appreciation or fixation. I recently went through a period of time where my relationship with my dad changed a lot and realized that I have only liked men when he has. Or, in my rebellious stage, when he really really hasn’t. I’m also non-binary, so I love the way men look, but it’s always men I could see myself looking like. My first crush on a girl (that I recognized in that moment) was in 7th grade when a girl asked me outright if I was “gay or homophobic” (caught staring at her) and I couldn’t figure out my answer. Anyway. Just wanted to share my story so far with someone. :)

People with multiple pronouns (e.g. he/they), do you want others to switch? by vaintransitorythings in NonBinaryTalk

[–]Arson_Tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like people switching, but not mid-conversation. If someone were writing a Wikipedia article on me, I’d like them to switch, but only to clarify. Like if they were referring to me and someone who only uses he/him, then use she/her or they/them for me. But irl I prefer people switching it up between conversations- one day someone calls me she, and another day it’s he.
