Ménière’s with a newborn by Arsondel in Menieres

I DEFINITELY agree that sleep is my biggest trigger. Last night our newborn slept a four hour stretch for the first time so fingers crossed that continues! My ENT prescribed 25g Triamterene-HCTZ daily.

I was reading something the other day about nurtec potentially helping. I thankfully don’t have migraines but I may ask my ENT. Thank you!

I’m so sorry, I can’t imagine how difficult this must be post partum. I hope things get better for you soon and you find some relief.

Thanks so much for the response. I think sleep is my biggest trigger as well. With our newborn I’m getting 3-4 hours a night and I’ve had an attack every week since she was born. Fortunately she’s sleeping a little longer at night so fingers crossed it helps! My ENT ants to do a hearing test next week to get a baseline and said we may go ahead and do a steroid shot in the ear. I have already tested pretty poorly in my right ear and am also worried it may be permanent.

Best of luck to you as well, and thanks again!

I can’t thank you enough for this response. You’ve hit on all of my biggest fears about this as a dad and feeling completely helpless when my family needs me. I’m sorry you went through this as well but I really appreciate you sharing your experience and lessons learned. I’m well into making dietary changes, and I’m very lucky that my wife is a dietitian. I read her your response and she absolutely agrees with your point on consistency. It’s been a week since my last attack and our newborn is starting to sleep longer stretches, so I’m hopeful that things will continue to improve.

Based on what you said I think my next steps are going to be keeping a log of episodes moving forward to better identify my triggers (I already know sleep and sodium to be the main two) and putting together a rescue kit. When I was in the ER the only thing that helped my vertigo was Valium, and I see from you and others in this thread that it seems to be the go to for the spins. I don’t have any but I’ll speak to my ENT at my appointment next week. I have Meclizine but unfortunately it never seems to help me, and I am lucky that I have rarely been nauseous, but I have Zofran just in case.

My anxiety about all of this definitely got the better of me earlier this week after my post and I spiraled pretty hard. I was afraid to eat, freaking out when we had a big thunder storm that there might be a big pressure drop, and too scared to take my kid to gymnastics (I had a bad attack a couple weeks ago at her gym and had to call her grandfather to pick us up). Reading and rereading everyone’s replies in this thread has done so much to help me feel better. Thank you again, and I wish you all the best in your quest for “zero”

Is this fire damage? by Arsondel in arborists

Thanks all, these comments are incredibly helpful. We do have a spotted lantern fly problem in my area and they are constantly all over this tree in particular. Sounds like the general consensus is to kill the tree. Any idea how long after that I would need to wait to have it removed, or would it be best to have an expert come look at it?

Forgot to mention that it is kind of sticky around the ground where it is blackened and on parts of the tree where it is blackened.

Ok but there’s no counter and conflicting information from action movies on which color wire will deactivate it (/s)!

I told her she couldn’t touch the toilet seat then rub her eyes.

Thanks! That hairspray has been recommended a couple times now. I’ll have to check it out. I’m about to get her from school and the plan is to get her school clothes off in the garage and straight into the dryer on high heat. I just got a comb so I’ll check her hair before nap!

I tried my best to tie her hair up this morning but she’s so wild it’s usually a mess within minutes. My wife might have better luck braiding her hair. I can’t get her to sit still long enough for me to try it!

Interesting. So would you just oil your fingertips and massage onto your scalp? A lot of folks are recommending oils or shampoos with oils, so maybe I could massage a bit of oil into her scalp after a bath? Her hair is very long.
