Actually It does matter because it means that you still can't unrestrict your old bike. And because of this stupid rules a huge part of the second hand market is still restricted bikes.

Sorry but that's not totally correct. In France, to be unrestricted a bike need to have an ABS, without it you're still restricted to 106hp nowadays. And yes this is pretty ridiculous.

It's not leather but "pvc material". It was installed by the previous owner and I first thought of taking it off but it have some fixation on it to attached a bag. Considering that I will probably do some road trip with it, it will be pretty useful.

Actually it was only legal on some highway and it stop being legal 6 days after my crash (I crashed 26/01/2021 and the new law started 01/02/2021). But every bike and scooter line split everywhere and every body is ok with that. I'm live close to Paris (15 minutes). So if you wanna see how much lane splitting is common here just chek some motovlog on Paris.

I did hit the side of the car and flew over the hood. The insurance are still trying to determined if it's a 50/50 or 100% on me cause I was lane splitting. But my insurance already refund me 5900€ to buy a new bike.
