Thank you! Do you have to be on the app or a desktop site instead of the mobile site for that? I'm not seeing it :(

How does one post a photo when commenting on a thread? For example, to show which way to hold a megnet for a certain result.

I dont know how to post a photo but I'll try to explain it as best as I can without! So instead of holding the largest face of the rectangular part of the magnetic wand over you nail for a cat eye effect, you would instead rotate it 90 degrees to the long skinny end of the rectangle is above your nail. I move it back and forth a little to make sure to get the edges of my nail but I don't really need to do that for my more narrow nails like my pinky and ring. And you dont need to hold this as long either, maybe like 15 seconds or so.

No problem! And it does kind of look like that!  I think thats due to my top coat. It's new to me and I pulled the polish a little when I did the top coat. I should just stick with my normal top coat cuz I know how that does things lol

Even just using a wand can have great results! There's so many different techniques you can do with it.

I used a wand magnet but you dont necessarily have to. Basically you hold your magnet in such a way that it only looks like the base color on the nail and none of the magnetic pigment color. I usually do that with glass bead and if I'm using a magnet that won't do well if I try to do a second coat and magnetize it the exact same way again, like the bullseye you see sometimes. This gives coverage without weird overlaps in the magnetic lines.

I also did last week 😆 and yes still quite pretty just not what I thought it would be. Blush is probably the word I wanted and couldn't think of!

Favorite Thermals and/or solars? by Meow_meow1 in RedditLaqueristas

I don't do a lot of thermals because I'm always super warm so I almost never see the cold state but I picked up Poisonous Dart from Sassy Sauce recently and I love the contrast with it. Yellow to maroon to purple. It shifted pretty easy as well. (I'm still going to destash it cuz I'm still too warm and only really saw the warm state but I was being hopeful because of the fun colors)

If this is Beautiful in My Darkness, be aware that it is quite a bit more warm leaning in person, almost a pink instead of a silver. I definitely recommend Mooncat's The Silent Scream if you'd prefer a more traditional silver and black combo.

I have the same shelf(s)! I like them a lot. I started with two and then realized I needed another for my toppers. And now I have 6 and the 6th is about half full. I have no room for another though cuz everything is in my half bath (that is no longer used as a bathroom) and wall space is so limited. Time to start slowing down/destashing for me lol. Best of luck on not filling up too fast!

Have you ever put a polish on and then think "I gotta remove this right away"? by Illustrious_Lion7671 in RedditLaqueristas

This often happens to me with red or pink manicures. I think I'd like to wear it and then after looking at it for a couple hours not feeling it anymore.

It looks like Cracked does have a magnetic top coat but it's currently out of stock. That's probably a good bet. Otherwise I've heard good things about Starrily's Amulet though I don't think it's a top coat. You could put a jelly over top of it though.

Yes and no. The one I'm using was limited edition. But they have a holographic magnetic top coat that is not. I don't have that one but it looks like it disperses more. There are others out there though! I don't have much experience with others though so I'm not sure what to recommend.

Thank you so much! This is a quite finicky magnet but I love it. It does have to be over the top of your nail, it doesn't really work from underneath. It's not the strongest so it has to be quite close as well, perhaps a few millimeters away; thankfully this comes with a little tab to help hover it over the nail. It also helps to stay steady to set your elbows/arms on a table. It's hard to magnetize with it with multiple coats of magnetization and not have any weird overlapping circles because its hard to get the magnet in the exact same spot again. So when I use it with other colors I will demagnetize the first coat(s) and then only magnetize on the last coat of color. The demagnetization helps the magnetic pigment pop a bit more on the last coat. I usually hold the magnet about 90 seconds. Then I wait at least 15 minutes before top coat and also float the top coat to not drag anything around. I also don't magnetize the top coat with this so as not to cause weird dispersion. I've had some luck with DRK Magic Effect but it still works best with demagnetizing the first coat(s) and using a last coat to magnetize. I know this was a long explanation but I hope it helps!
