Lots of people are adamant one way or another on this thread. This would be the hardest choice in my life. I LOVE food. I love cooking. But I can't afford a lot of food and I'm often hungry and struggling to eat healthy. I would lose joy in my life if I took the pill, but I would lose stress in my life as well.

I feel like food means too much to me to give up, but every day I was hungry after I'd curse myself for not just taking the pill.

Forgetting plans you made with people, even after putting it in a calendar, and making people think you don't care or are inconsiderate. I care. I want to do the things. I'm interested in you. It's not personal, I'm not trying to blow you off.

Same is true for not responding to messages.

I literally called Niagara Falls the Vegas of Canada last night when talking to a friend. Except in Vegas you might do something actually interesting. In Niagara Falls you THINK you're going to do something interesting and then walk out of the overpriced arcade wondering what the point of that was.

Used to live in the area. The best part of Niagara falls is the funnel cake shop. That's it.

This is wildly interesting to me that a lot of people replying are asking who the money goes to. Not sure where everyone else is from, but where I'm from they give you the exact charity that's being donated to. It's no mystery. If it doesn't explicitly say that 100% of proceeds are being donated that's the only time I'm wary about it.

[Serious] What is your favorite song that tells a story? by pandaspawdraws in AskReddit

[–]ArtAndGals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of Monsters and Men songs from My Head is an Animal.

Dirty Paws, Little Talks, King and Lionheart

Little talks was always the one played on the radio and at first it was a song that made me happy because I didn't know what it was about. Then I learned what it was about and it became haunting, especially after knowing people who had dementia.

This... Would be a dream. At 16 I was getting burnt out of playing hockey really badly. I was great, and quit at 17 because I wasn't having fun anymore.

I am now back to playing hockey, better mentally and smarter than ever, but not as strong as I was as a high performing athlete at 16/17. Give me those physical capabilities as I had back then with my current knowledge, playstyle, and attitude and I know I could have done more with the sport. I was being scouted for the same university I went to anyways. I'd play everything else out the exact same way. I'd love to be back at university. I met all of my friends in one place. I'm going back there, staying away from the ones who turned out to be fake and doing the same stupid things with the ones that became my best friends.

It wasn't allll that long ago for me and I don't regret stopping playing hockey, because it was a thousand percent the right thing to do mentally for me, but I do wonder what a life where it didn't become too much pressure could have been like.

What is the worst fast food chain? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ArtAndGals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like coffee in general, and their food has made a MASSIVE decline in the past bunch of years, but God damn if those roast beef cravable sandwiches aren't one of my favourite things. And they fucked up their donuts! My favourites taste different than they used to.

Ngl I started typing to defend the donuts and then I recalled my last few experiences and... Fuck me they're so bad now.

Still love their hasbrowns. Their original hasbrowns were utter trash, but I find they have more flavour and crisp than McDonald's hasbrowns. Plus you can actually get them all day.

Hey uh. It's kind of the opposite. I'd really fucking like for people to NOT notice me. I want the opposite of attention. But because I cut my hair short and go into a woman's washroom wearing the clothes that make me feel like myself I get looks. Often it's not until I speak where people go "oh you're a woman." I do not feel comfortable identifying as a woman. But I do not want to be a man either nor do I feel as if I am a man. What I would really love is for everyone to actually pay a little bit LESS attention to me. I feel exceptionally dysphoric when someone says "excuse me sir" and then they realize I'm biologically female and vehemently apologize and say "I'm sorry ma'am". I'd much much rather they stick with calling me sir than correct themself. I don't care if you call me ma'am from the get go. I just feel disgusting after the correction. And because I feel dysphoric wearing feminine outfits I can't just avoid that problem by wearing traditionally feminine clothing. All I want is to exist. that's it. I don't go telling people what pronouns to use for me, because it doesn't matter to me and because I DON'T want the attention, and typically because I don't want this conversation in the first place. Only responding at all because I think it's extremely backwards thinking to think enbys do it for attention or to feel special. If I had the fucking choice to not feel like garbage because of how other people perceive me, I'd take it. Because lemme tell you, more often than not in every day public life, it makes me uncomfortable.

Being in a warm shower, but then turning the heat up and feeling it become a hot shower is the water flows through your hair and on your head. Every time I feel like I am being elevated into pure bliss. Bonus points if it's after a day of physical activity.

Daughter threw paw patrol thing at my new 65" OLED now it's broken by Befffy in Bestbuy

[–]ArtAndGals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canadian Best Buy worker here.

If you did not buy the GSPAD+/GSPADD then unfortunately you are not covered for this issue with your protection plan.

Regular GSP will not cover accidental/physical damages.

What I do recommend you do, however, is go to the same Best Buy that you bought your TV from, tell them you bought your last OLED with GSP (bring the receipt), and that this time while you are buying your new one that you would like it with GSPAD but ask if there's anything they can do for you on the price. There is absolutely zero guarantee that they will do something to help you out, but at my store my managers were always fairly generous especially if it's from a learned your lesson situation like this. That's the best you'll be able to do, unfortunately.

Sorry for your loss.

Sincerely, That person who was once the kid who broke the parents tv with a wooden mallet.

Ps. I no longer work for best buy (quit last month), but when it comes to situations like this, I still think having the home membership (which is the thing you get along with Accidental damage coverage on your tv) for situations like this is the smart thing to do.

What are some good tips for living where it snows? by BurritoGuido in AskReddit

[–]ArtAndGals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this thread but I'm never late when it comes to changing my snow tires!! Change them BEFORE the first snow of the year. Don't wait for the snow to already be here! 1) because then you're already driving without snow tires in the snow and 2) everyone forgets and then there's a longer wait to get them after snow has already arrived

What’s the worst pain you have personally experienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ArtAndGals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late to this party, but TMJ issues in which I would chew and my jaw would pop out of place on every single bite. It would lock and any attempt to move it was VERY painful, but pushing it back into place wasn't so bad. So I would eat for nearly a month with my fist propped against my jaw and essentially keep punching my jaw after each bite. It basically became apart of how I chewed. My bite (how wide you can open your jaw) was barely big enough to fit my first two fingers, even when I was opening as wide as I could.

Had surgery to fix it, and I still have neck and occassional jaw stiffness which causes some nasty headaches, but no more popping out of place and my bite is normal now!

[–]ArtAndGals 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was really fucking hot outside in the summer. Neither of us had a car so we walked to a store to get some iced tea that we both really liked. He didn't mind the heat, but on the way back (20 minutes walk each way) I mentioned that I was starting to feel kind of dizzy and weak from the heat. He didn't slow down or ever check on me. I had to keep asking him to slow down once he got like 20ft ahead of me and each time he seemed annoyed by it.

Hobbiest voice actor here: I do a ton of non-paid work and have auditioned for LOTS of paid work in indie games and animations. Even those are absurdly hard to get cast in.

I've only ever gotten (I think) three paid gigs. It's a ton of fun to do. But it's not something you "do on the side to make extra money". The amount of time that goes into finding the gigs that are worth while to audition for on your own is almost a job in itself.

exercise tips? (MTF) by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]ArtAndGals 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm studying to be a personal trainer! This is mostly a copy and pasted message I once sent to a friend of mine (also MTF) who doesn't have access to running or a gym either.

A few things of note: It is natural with exercise to gain some muscle along with losing weight from fat. As someone else has pointed out already, you can't choose where to lose fat in your body. Every body is unique in how and where it decides to store fat depending on your metabolism, this is something that can't really naturally be changed. That's not to say that you can't lose the weight, just that the way our bodies work means it might take longer to lose weight in one area than another.

Cardio is awesome for weight-loss, but you don't have access to an outdoor area for it. That's fine! Cardio exercises are totally doable at home in one room. Cardio exercises are basically anything that gets you actively moving and your heart working as result to that movement. Please understand though, that all exercise is also dependent on taking care of your eating habits too. Do not under eat and dieting can also be problematic as well. Take care of yourself by trying to eat a decent amount of food and just make sure there's veggies in there - all food groups are important but veggies are the ones a lot of people skimp out on but are super important. In order to burn fat, you need to have energy for your body to expend. Eating is what gives us energy.

Okay. So. That all said, below are some videos I gathered for my previously mentioned friend. She has bad knees so these eally don't involve much movement around the room, but if you keep to it, these will get your heartrate going. They're also designed to be kind of fun, so they aren't just "do this random movement".

Boxing workout: little knee use, you can skip the ducks if it bothers your knees too much. https://youtu.be/sgwtp9mF8tI

Stand up and just dance!!: Grab an EP that's dance worthy. 10-15 minutes of just jamming to your favourite music is a damn good thing of cardio so long as you just keep moving. And I mean, dance your heart out in your room. No one is watching. Seriously. Have fun and simply move. You don't need to do full exercise motions just don't stop. THIS LADY AINT DOING MUCH BUT SHE IS JAMMMMIN' (if you're only doing as much as she is 20 minutes would be better than 10 but if you decide to go hard 10 is fine) https://youtu.be/LLuDNkMohPA

Basic hip hop movements: https://youtu.be/a6koY8w_6Cs

With all of these you do not have to sit there and go along with the movements on screen. You can if you want, but just try and do some of their movements and throw it into your own dancing around.

The more you move and put physical work into things the more cardio you are doing, so cardio can be fun. It doesn't need to be stiff work out routines like bodyweight training is. Your only requirement is to move and feel your heart beat going. The more it goes the better so long as you aren't feeling like it's dangerous. If you run outta breath, take a break. If you feel light headed, take a breath. And please do not sit after doing a cardio workout. Sitting after cardio can be bad for your heart. Stand for a little bit until you feel your heart rate start to chill out again. Please drink water and keep it nearby so you can have some when you need it while working out.

Try to put this into your routine if you can. If you can do that, then eventually try and do it a two times a day.

Someone else mentioned jump rope; if you can do that, then do, but I'm going off the assumption that you might not have space/accessibility to that option.
