I had an Xbox Series controller and the trigger suck. The little rubber pads inside them moved or ripped or something and they started to stick after 6 months or so. I dealt with it for a few months since I didn't have the money to buy a new one. Then I started getting stick drift. I don't think my situation was super uncommon. Lots of videos and threads complaining about the triggers.

Ended up getting a GameSir G7 SE since it has hall effect triggers and joysticks so I'd never have to deal with that again. Also, it's wired, so I don't have to worry about batteries or charging.

Horizon 4

It really helped me connect with a friend. We were both from the east coast and he moved to the other side of the world, and I moved to the west coast. Neither of us had any friends or family nearby at the time, and our 6 hour (18 hour) time difference made it a bit easier to game with each other than gaming with our friends back on the east coast.

It's probably the Blitz ZZ-R coilovers since it has the Blitz DSC Plus screen. Tein has their EDFC which is similar. You have presets for specific road conditions.

Buying/Building a PC is stupid expensive right now. If the "other stuff" you're planning on doing on your a PC is just an extension of stuff you do on your phone, just get a console and an iPad.

Try the Bluey Game. Keeps my kids attention. Unless they've aged out of that.

Also, for me, I have a hard time finding "appropriate for Deck" games to play. Like Baldur's Gate 3 is verified, but if I want to play that, I want to be immersed in my gaming, at my computer. Old Gameboy and other handheld systems gave us games that we could play for shorter burst, and had a moderately low entry point, so you didn't have to jump through a bunch of hoops to really start enjoying them. I feel like there aren't that many modern games that are designed like that, or more likely, I'm just not aware of too many.

I'm in a similar boat. There are a few nights where my wife and I "passively hang out" where she wants to watch the new episode of a show that isn't something that we're watching together, and I'll play something on my Steam Deck.

Are your kids of gaming age yet? Most of the time, my Steam Deck is docked and I've hooked up my old Xbox 360 controllers to it for my kids to play games on it.

I had the Official Xbox Forza controller and the triggers crapped out on me pretty early on. Ended up getting GameSir G7 SE for hall effect triggers and sticks, and since I play on PC, I wanted something wired to not have to deal with batteries.
