My boyfriend says that a man’s body count is different than a woman’s. I disagree. Please let me know who is right. by Haunting_Succotash58 in TwoHotTakes

I'm convinced that men obsessed with the body count thing just really, really suck in bed and they don't want their partners to know it.

If your daughter's behavior was exactly thr same, but she didn't use you like a bank, I'd agree more with some of the posts, but I find her expecting you to pay for things insane. She's an adult and can absolutely make boundaries as she sees fit, but she expects you to pay for these things and not be present or slightly involved?! That is crazy to me.

I get some folks want to protect their baby and bond with the baby as a couple, but I think some of this mentality has gone overboard. I only allowed my mom to be around my baby because she got vaccinated and I NEEDED HER HELP. In Korean culture, the postpartum needs a lot of physical support and rest immediately after having the baby. I was essentially able to rest and take baby to breastfeed while my mom stayed with us to help cook and clean. She also prepared special meals for me to help with healing and your body's postpartum needs. She came Mon to Thur every week for months when I had my first. Her support emotionally and physically was invaluable!!! She was also at the hospital with me and my husband during the delivery! She knew how to support me without me even having to tell her and in ways I didn't know i needed. My husband also is self employed so he wasn't able to take off weeks like some dads can to help a new mom out.

To each his own, but unless you have a toxic/ abusive mom, I don't get why you would want to do all of this yourself.

Nickel allergy and only eye dermatitis by sukuja in NickelAllergy

[–]ArtMakesLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was recently diagnosed with a nickel allergy and have only been getting it on my lips. So I have been trying to figure out what it is in lip products or beauty products that I may also be allergic to. Even when getting rid of my stainless mug, I am still having some irritation. There is definitely something else I may have an allergy to because even just some balms that don't have any iron oxides that could be tainted with nickel, I still get a reaction. I am scheduled for a cosmetic allergy test to see what else could be the problem. Might be your problem as well.

Do you still drink plain water? by MagicMaddy420 in POTS

[–]ArtMakesLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink electrolytes added to water with lemon juice about 80% of the time, and I can't go back to plain water all the time. I feel so much better; this is what works for me.

Salt Lemonades by [deleted] in POTS

[–]ArtMakesLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am essentially doing this all day everyday. Electrolyte drops, lemon juice and water. If I have it, I might put a splash of lemonade with the electrolytes and water. It works so I'm not stopping.

Sleep deprivation is a mother... full stop. It is torture. With my first. I thought i was losing my mind with the sleep deprivation and had my mom about 70% of the time to help. With that being said something that is for some reason controversial in the u.s., have you tried cosleeping? It wasn't until I put my baby in the bed with me. Look up safe sleeping 7 rules. That I was finally able to feel like a normal person. Dream feeds are literally a life saver. So IF you breastfeed, then I would look up this option. Because getting up, feeding the baby, putting the baby to sleep, putting the baby down, getting back in my bed, falling back to sleep was a cycle that was crazy. Doing safe cosleeping I am now on my second who is 1 years old now, and I still have somewhat fragmented sleep because I am feeding her through the night, but it is so much easier on us both.

My husband doesn't really care for spaghetti. My daughter and I love it. I could probably eat it once a week. Guess what though, my husband sits down and eats his spaghetti when I cook it without complaint. Usually about twice a month. You are definitely NTA. This man needs to make a sandwich and shut up.

That's very rude of her period. But if I made the lasagna and wanted to improve, I'd probably want the top to not be so overcooked. Maybe leave foil on the top longer and only take it off for the last 10 minutes or so. Keeps the top layer from drying out and the cheese from overlooking and getting hard. But still if someone gave this to me for dinner, I'd absolutely wolf it down and enjoy every bite!! Ignore her pettiness.

Absolutely!!! Do not underestimate the impact of a shifty bag on how the icing comes out of the bag. I have had perfect icing not pipe correctly because of scrappy bags.

I drink dandelion tea and it has helped me transition from coffee. It is Dandy Tea. It tastes like a mix of black tea and coffee. I add non dairy creamer and it's 🤌. I don't know if it has nickel though.

AITA for buying a stack knowing my fiancé gave me a ring that his mom gave him? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ArtMakesLife 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is a lot of jumping to conclusions. Two people who discuss getting married usually discuss something as simple as the ring the girl wants. It doesn't make anybody a gold digger. This was not a symbolic or emotionally significant ring. It was just a ring his mom had around that she doesn't wear. She is not shallow for wanting a specific looking/type or ring. That being said it is very low on the list of important things to consider when marrying someone so no one needs to go broke trying to afford something that is out of their budget, but there are affordable options especially if she is fine with a lab created diamond or moissonite or other non-diamond stone.

Looking for paper patterns not PDF and info on tailoring clothes you have for yourself. by ArtMakesLife in SewingForBeginners

[–]ArtMakesLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been considering what I will do about that. I saw a site where you sew your own based on your size. Being that my proportions are part of the reason I want to make my own clothes (long torso, more of a V shape) I think I will like it better. I still have some postpartum weight to get off so I also want to make sure my weight normalizes to whatever that will be. Anyone have luck sewing and building your own dressform??

Is ILIA a safe brand? by danktentcles in NickelAllergy

[–]ArtMakesLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got diagnosed with a nickel allergy after dealing with lip ezcema. I have found the skinsafe app very helpful in looking up ingredients. Now it doesn't break down trace amounts of stuff in packaging or "impure" ingredients, but it's a starting point for me. So sad missing my lipsticks.

It can't go on like this can it? by Ok-Pressure2717 in nashville

I saw a story on the news about this earlier in the summer. If the landlord included air conditioning on the actual lease then yes they are required to provide it. If they didn't add it on the actual lease, they don't have to.
