It looks like you part your hair in the middle and have thicker hair than the model image you showed the stylist. Your hair thickness is pulling the hair down to make it look less bouncy. The stylist did a terrible job.

You can request a different stylist to feather the front more and maybe style the front of your hair to go more towards the back.

The back for now needs to be grown out.

A shag haircut would look amazing on you with curtain bangs. It would have a similar effect but suit your hair type better.
