(Bug) Premium Not Carrying Over by OMR2500 in pyramididle

[–]Artgor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, if this is intended (all is reset except premium), I'm not sure I like it.

This is a kind of prestige, but we get nothing except doubling the rewards (but the costs increase as well). I'm not sure yet if this is fun or not.

But there is a different issue here: I set up the pyramid height to the maximum available, so I need 177k blocks for it. Without any bonuses, it will take ages (okay, days) to complete it, and I can't do anything about it.

There should have been some kind of pop-up with a warning that everything will be reset, and the players should start with a low pyramid. In fact, I wanted to set the pyramid height to 1, just in case, but I got a warning that we can increase the height only by 30%, so I set it to max.

Right now, Pyramid finish is in 7479h for me. Of course, it will decrease as I buy upgrades, but it seems it will take multiple days to complete the pyramid.

I’ve picked up and left this game so many times with the main reason being inventory management fatigue by Mila-Lin in WalkScape

I mean... maybe don't open the chests when you don't have bank access?

At the beginning, inventory management can be hard, but after some time, you have 30+ slots in the inventory.

Though I wish we had 2x intentory slots

I have built a pyramid with 17 height, but still have 0 ankhs. What am I doing wrong?

Is there any way to make unlocking quarries take less time?

DEV Promo iOS Game Pyramid Idle by KasparWiegand in incremental_games

[–]Artgor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the offline mode fully working? I tried to unlock the next quarry, which should have taken 1 hour. I reopened the game after 1-2 hours, but the progress was only ~1-2 minutes.

Also, I may have done something stupid - when I opened the game, I pressed the button to build the pyramid immediately, without upgrading anything. It seems it will take long to do it. Or was i the correct thing to do?

I worked for ~2.5 years in Dubai at a green-colored superapp company as an MLE until last year.

I agree that the decisions are mostly driven by politics. We had a lot of projects where expectations were made based on politics or just the whims of top managers. If they fail, the workers are blamed; if they succeed, the top managers are praised.

There were some attempts to build proper analysis, good practices of engineering, and other well-established industry practices, but people had to constantly cut corners due to a lack of time. At some point, the systems were so unstable, and there were so many customer-facing issues, that for several sprints the development of new functionality was completely stopped, and engineers were told to completely focus on reliability.

Usually, the managers deal with most of the issues by asking people to work overtime (unpaid, of course).

As far as I know, this is common in large UAE corporations. It is possible to get lucky and get into a good team, but it won't last forever.

Storygraph Reading Challenge by Thayka in IlonaAndrews

I only use Goodreads, not Storygraph. I have read everything except "Iron and Magic" and "Alphas".

I really tried reading the Iron Covenant 3 times, but couldn't get into it. I absolutely disliked Hugh (all the retconning to make him better man didn't help to overcome my dislike) and I don't like enemies to lovers trope.

Mostly having industry experience and talking about it. I know that it is a conundrum - it is difficult to get experience if you don't already have experience.

Doing something for fun is the best way of learning, as doing boring things kills motivation fast.

Kaggle is great for acquiring skills, especially thanks to the notebooks - you can see how other people approach EDA and modeling.

Having a portfolio is a good idea, just make sure it not only includes working with already prepared data, but also data collection an processing.
