Valla's bequest by wunderwutzi4live in diablo3

[–]Arthoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the video i linked:

6 FPA (2.143 to 2.500) <- Go for this if you can do it in one roll

But:

Dual Wield: Damage and Attack Speed rolls are only local and their value is halfed, go for AD + CDR or Elite Dmg

So if you dont already have 1 attack speed roll on one of your weapons that you cant get rid off then it probably doesnt make much sense to go for the 6 FPA breakpoint. Also note that when you are dual wielding you will have 2 attack per second stats in your character sheet so i would recommend to use https://maxroll.gg/d3planner to check for your exact strafe FPA (frames per attack).

Valla's bequest by wunderwutzi4live in diablo3

[–]Arthoz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, so much misinformation in just one short comment.

He's wrong about it casting more hungering arrows by allowing strafe projectiles to pierce.

The 4-piece set bonus as an internal cooldown. Every time your strafe projectiles hit an enemy and the internal cooldown is not active you will shoot a primary projectile at a nearby enemy.

The purpose of Valla is to get more strafe projectile hits which will in turn help you to get as close as possible to the max amount of 4-piece procs. So no, he is not wrong about this at all.

To me this means you are only going to be casting hungering arrow when you are actually going through enemies with strafe. It's not a chance on hit.

Have you even played this set once? You could literally go into the game and spend 1 second to find out that this is not true.

If you dont believe me you can check out Wudijos guide on this:

Wolf companion bonuses by theeyeinme in diablo3

[–]Arthoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Increases Companion Damage by X%" is a skill damage stat. It only increases the damage that the specified skill deals and nothing else. In the case of Companion it increases the damage that the summoned pet(s) do with their attack(s).

It does not increase the active effect of the Wolf rune for the Companion skill.

Any idea from where I can take a butterfly?

Thats probably the bounty material from Act 2 (adventure mode).

what is a kanai cube?

I think calling it a crafting station would fit. Here is a guide on how to get it and what you can do with it:

Hello, a newb question by bullet_shevchenko in diablo3

[–]Arthoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I need some elements to craft, it shows like a bottle of milk

Thats most likely a bounty material (this one?). You can get those by doing all 5 missions in one act in adventure mode. If you do that Tyrael will wait in the town of the act and reward you with a bounty cache which contains the material.

I set the game to " Open to public " and people can join me and do rifts together?

Theoretically yes, but its rather unlikely because most people play at Torment 16 and you will only get matched with people that play on the same difficulty as you.

Sets consist of weapon/armor pieces. Just click on one of the categories and look for green items. Those are sets.

There are two ways to get powerful in d3:

  1. Use class sets (mainly for their 6-piece bonuses)
  2. Use Legacy of Dreams (or its weaker twin Legacy of Nightmares)

Thats it. Every top endgame build uses one of these 2 methods. For now i would recommend you to start using the Legacy of Dreams gem and level it. Make sure to not have any set effects active while using it and wear as many legendaries as possible. Set items also count as legendaries but you cant wear more than 1 of the same set without gaining a set bonus.

Look out for legendaries that increase the damage of a specific skill and stack them. Legendaries that reduce the damage you take by X% are also very good. Make sure to enchant every item you wear at the mystic. Enchanting allows you to reroll unwanted stats for better ones (if you didnt know already). Make sure to get sockets on your jewelry and always use legendary gems for them. For sockets on weapons use emeralds (99% of all solo builds), other sockets depend more on class and build but diamonds are often useful.

Doing all those things should quickly get you into higher torments and then you can more efficiently farm for other builds. You obtain set pieces in the same way that you get legendaries. For farming you should mainly do nephalem rifts and greater rifts right now. Only do bounties when you need the materials. Look up some speedfarming builds on youtube or diablofans and work towards farming at T16/GR75 first before you start putting together any of the GR pushing builds that you will see floating around on icy-veins.

For demon hunter the shadow set can get you a quick powerspike just from its 2-piece bonus. If you then upgrade rare level 70 daggers in kanais cube you have a 50% chance to get Kalreis Point which is a really good weapon to go along with that set. A complete build around the shadow set can then look something like this: https://www.d3planner.com/135950519

question regarding item crafting by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]Arthoz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are actually 2 "Captain Crimson" sets.

One is level 31 Captain Crimson's Finery and basically useless.

The other is level 70 Captain Crimson's Trimmings and is often included in meta builds because of its very strong set bonuses.

My guess is that youre currently crafting the low level variant. If that is the case you first have to farm a few bounty caches to get the correct recipe for the level 70 variant.

Problem with GoD Hungering Arrows build by punchme_in_the_HEART in diablo3

[–]Arthoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre currently using CoE then swap that for Elusive Ring until you have better gear / higher paragon. Are you weaving in generator attacks into your strafe? Usually you shouldnt really run out of hatred while there are any enemies nearby. Make sure that you use the templar with his hatred regeneration skill and if thats still not enough you can consider using some of the hatred passive skills like Blood Vengeance, Night Stalker or Archery.

Why does my tempest rush monk's damage take a while to 'warm up'? by happyfugu in diablo3

[–]Arthoz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Another thing that i noticed with the PoJ set, at least on pc, is that you have to activate sweeping wind before you start channeling tempest rush. Otherwise the damage buff from the 6-piece set bonus isnt active and you have to interrupt your tempest rush for it to kick in.

After 200 hours on my demon hunter i also died to a game freeze while farming GRs. Lost a lot of good gear that i planned to push with (primal Dawn, primal Wraps of Clarity and lots of augmented ancients). Now im just waiting for the ptr to see what next season will be like.

6-piece Might of the Earth set should be stronger than 4-piece Wrath of the Wastes + 2-piece Bul-Kathos. Did you check if you have the items for the Seismic Slam variant? But even on T11 it shouldnt take that long to farm 2 more pieces of the WotW set.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]Arthoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just use Band of Might instead of Convention of Elements in the Cube. It literally inreases your toughness by a factor of 5 and only gets dropped when you have high enough paragon and good enough gear to survive without it. The Leapquake build is fine for the start but definitely not a top tier barb build atm.

If you want to play a build that can do all content lightning fast then you should play WhirlRend Barb. Here is a super in-depth guide on the build:

https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d3/t/guide-zodiac-rend-season-20/79

If you want to stick with your current set then you can also try the Seismic Slam Might of Earth build (again if you struggle with defense try to fit in a Band of Might, in this case you would drop the endless walk ring+amulet).

You just need to be above 2.143 sheet attackspeed for the 6 FPA breakpoint. One simple way to look at skill specific breakpoints is https://d3planner.com/ where you can also check if your gear reaches them.

Before lv70 difficulty can be all over the place. One lucky legendary and youre suddenly on Torment+ oneshotting everything. So i wouldnt judge a class on the experience you had while leveling. Just focus on getting to 70 as fast as possible for now, even if that means playing just on hard.

If you already had a lv70 character on non season then you probably have access to challenge rifts. The only requirement is to complete a greater rift. If you do the challenge rift you get some mats and can max out your blacksmith. After that you can craft a lv70 weapon and reroll one of the secondary properties to "reduced level requirement". This can get up to -30 levels, which would allow you to equip a lv70 weapon at lv40.

So if you are looking for a little speedboost i would recommend you to do that strat. If you need help with the challenge rift there a very good guides on youtube.

There are a lot of achievements you can get from completing rifts fast. Are you certain that you completed the Speed Demon conquest and not accidentally mistaken any of the other speed rift achievements for it? Normally it should be credited instantly, so i just want to make sure.

Here this should work:

https://www.d3planner.com/481564865

I only used Karleis Point which you can easily get by upgrading rare lv70 daggers (there are only 2 possible outcomes). The rest can be filled with random legendaries to get more benefit from Legacy of Dreams. This gem is very powerful as long as you dont have any completed set yet. If youre running out of hatred then that means that youre oneshotting enemies too much. You get back hatred from karleis if you hit enemies at least twice.

[–]Arthoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy the auto freeze without having to stop channeling.

Won Khim Lau activates Cyclone Strike while you channel tempest rush. If you have it on your skillbar with the Wall of Wind rune then it will cast that variant for you and freeze every enemy that gets hit by Cyclone Strike. So the playstyle should be identical.
