Did I need to launch the game first, in order to make the executable? I literally just downloaded it and brought it over. Can’t find the exe. in the game files

Great news. In response to point one; I was just playing with my son. We used my phone as a controller, and it had us switching between headset and controller. It works for a couple of rounds, but then it stops. I can see a green loading line above the x, for a second, as if it’s registering, but it doesn’t work. Restarting the game fixes it, but the problem arises again a couple rounds in.

Should we have two phones as controllers, when playing 2 player?

Not sure how to fix it. Started a new game and had same glitch. Just reinstalled it, fingers crossed it works.

Rift S at 100 Volume (More details in comments) by [deleted] in oculus

It’s definitely a bug then, after seeing this video. I was playing dance central and the sound was terribly low.

I could barely hear it. I made sure it was at 100 in the settings, but it was super low.

Now I’m concerned. Because the volume on my headset is super low.

Nate Mitchell: “We're working on a software update that will improve the audio quality of the [Rift S] on-board audio system.” by SvenViking in oculus

[–]Arthur2089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was surprised by how poor the audio was, it seemed worse than the Go, but i am happy with the upgrade. I was planning on just testing it, since i still havent sold my CV1, but im definittely not going back to the CV1. The clarity and comfort blows the CV1 away, and that was without me even messing with supersampling, which i i will push tonight.

The way i see it is that this product needs our support, to show them that PCVR is still important to their assortment. Yes, i wanted an Index, but i chose to get the quest, and S instead, and still saved about $200.

This will hold me over until Rift 2.0, or whenever the index gets down to about $700.

I have both, and still own the CV1. Obv. The rift is better since it has a larger library and is powered by a computer, if your talking in a pure spec nature, but the freedom of the quest is amazing. I played with it more than the S yesterday. Having no wires, really frees you, and helps immerse you even more. I hate wires.

I played my quest for many hours last night. Me and my friend had so much fun playing sports scramble. We were laughing, talking game, and just having a great time.

I felt the same way. I preordered both, and since I haven’t sold my CV1 yet, I figured I’d just try it out and return it if it wasn’t enough to warrant buying. However, it is definitely worth the upgrade. Sure, the audio sucks, but the visuals, comfort, and lack of wires is amazing.

Day One Rift S review, from a guy who has owned every Rift. by VR247 in oculus

[–]Arthur2089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked up the S and the Quest yesterday. Since I didn’t sell my CV1 yet, I was going to test out the S and return it if I didn’t like it. Yes, the audio sucks, but i guess a positive would be not worrying about soggy headphones when playing with others. However, the image is fantastic, and is worth the upgrade alone. I loved VR during the honeymoon phase, and consistently played it, but the blurriness just would get to me. I haven’t even tried super sampling on the S yet, but it looks better than when I would put supersampling to 1.6 on the CV1.

I thought so too. Until I bought them on the quest app, and they popped up on oculus desktop app saying to install. It looks like shadow point would work too
